Waitlist Question?

My DW & I have our first trip planned. We have a room booked and are on the wait list for another option. Is is ok or allowed to call and ask MS where we are on the list? Or just to make sure that we are actually on a wait list?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is allowed and it is ok to call MS to see and make sure you are on the waitlist but they will tell you they have no idea where you are on the waitlist and they are specifically not given that information.

Are you using regular pts or developer pts? Since you said it's your first trip, I thought you might be using developer pts. Developer points can't be waitlisted as I learned last year when MS made a waitlist ressie for me, or thought they did. When I called back, I was told there was no waitlist for developer pts.

If you're using regular pts, call and ask, it won't hurt anything and you can listen to the Disney music while you wait

Just back from a trip with a waitlist. Early on... I called as frequently as possible... because I saw posts mentioning getting rooms that way. Didn't happen for me like that. Finally I got tired of calling... looked at DVCmember.com day before departure.. and one waitlist had cleared! Evidently at the 7th day prior mark! Written confirmation was in the mail when we got home.

We are using regular points. Actually banked. We bought in March 2007 when they first opend up Animal Kingdom for sale. (UY Sept) and banked all of our 2007 points. We booked our first trip for Sept. 2008.
Thanks for the advice.. I agree about listening to the Disney Music... Always puts me in a good mood...
