Waitlist Question, reply quickly please.

I waited just a week too long and concierge is booked already at AKV for next year. If I waitlist them using regular 2015 use year points the points just go back in to my account, if it doesn't open up, right?

The points are not used until the waitlisted room is booked. If it doesn't open up, nothing is lost. They don't take the points out of your account just because you put in a waitlist.

So it doesn't effect the original reservation?

If you booked something and then waitlisted something else and put that original resie be cancelled when waitlist is filled...then they will use those points from original resie and if need more points and you don't have them in current UY and checked that they can borrow from next UY, they will borrow to fill the waitlist (they won't borrow before). If you already have borrowed points in your account, those stay borrowed and can't go back to original UY.
