Hi there-

Im curious to see how this would play out. We want to book Sat Dec 5-12, 2015 in an AKV value studio. It seems that people are walking reservations as every day I check to see whats available and the first day I'm allowed to book (right at 11 months) is unavailable with the rest of the week available. So lets say on the 5th I go online to book at 8am- and the value is unavailable for that day, but the 6-12th are available. I can't book those days and just stay somewhere else on the 5th right? So if I wait list the whole week- how does that work? and how likely is that to come through? I'd want to book a standard studio in case the value doesn't come through.

Correct, because you're not 11 months out from the 6th at that point. So if I wait list the whole week- how does that work? and how likely is that to come through? See above. I think a wait list for a value at 11 months - even at the most popular DVC time for the year (which your time frame falls into) - in a high demand room category - could come through. I don't necessarily think what you're seeing means people are walking their reservations though, it can just be that rolling time frame - people's trips are ending as yours is starting type thing. But 11 months is a long time, the waitlist could happen. I'd have a back up plan which you said you have.

If you wait list the whole week, you don't get it unless every day becomes available (in other words, they won't give you one day that becomes available and leave the rest as your wait list, and then give you the next day that becomes available, etc.). Do you have enough points to book both and then cancel one?

Thank you! I do have enough points to book a standard studio for the week and wait list a value for the week- but what you said make sense- Now I'm wondering if I should just wait list value for half the week and then spend the other half in a standard....
