Waitlist Odds at VGF

I'm doing a split stay in August and would like to stay at VGF for 3 nights. I was able to get two nights in a standard studio, but the third night I booked in a lake view. I waitlisted the standard view to swap out the lake view. What do you think my odds are that the standard view will open up? It's at the end of August. If it doesn't open up, will they really make us change our room for the one night?

Might be fairly good since a single night, end of August when lots of kids are back in school or nearly so. Probably better if that last night is on the weekend when people canceling a trip may leave either Saturday or Sunday open for you--maybe.

Yup, that's very likely. In this circumstance, you need to be resigned to whatever you can get, IMO.

As you likely know, VGF1 is very small if you're talking the original building. And, you're looking at only a few months to get into anything there, not the likeliest prospect.

Keep checking yourself. You might happen onto a cancellation before your waitlist comes through.

We ended up getting it! I last looked this afternoon and there was nothing, but then the waitlist came through this evening.
