Waitlist matched but points borrowed from wrong contract

We waitlisted a night next month at Saratoga. The waitlist was matched so we received the email confirming the reservation. We have two Saratoga contracts, both with October Use Year. One contract has the restrictions from resale the other does not. We like to use the one with restrictions first in the event we want to stay at Riviera. When waitlisting, it only gives us the option to borrow from Saratoga Springs or Do Not Borrow, it does not allow you to select the specific contract number to borrow from. As such, the points were taken from the contract without restrictions. Apparently there is nothing they can do as the points would go into holding. They stated the only way to fix the issue in the future is to call member services and tell the advisor to put a note in the system every time we make a waitlist. The Supervisor I spoke with was somewhat rude which didn’t help. Am I alone thinking that you should be able to indicate this on the members end or at least select the contract number?
 
I think the more steps on the website, the more chance for errors. I happen to agree with the CM that when you need something special done that the website doesn’t allow, a call or email to MS for a note is the best option,

We have done this when we wanted a waitlist to replace some, but not all the nights of a trip.

I am sorry this happened but at least you know in the future what needs to be done.
