Waitlist Kidani/Jambo - what are my chances?

Wow! I thought I was going during a low period. I was wrong! There isn't much available. I went on a waitlist for a 1 bdrm at either Kidani or Jambo from Dec 3 - 8th. Can anyone tell me if there is even a slight glimmer of hope that someone might cancel and I will get the room (assuming of course that I'm #1 on the list....yeah right!)

OK, slight glimmer of hope.

No one knows for sure. After several disappointments, we decided to buy at our favorite resorts and book at 11 months.

DVC might also declare some more units at Kidani and that might help.

I tried to extend our vacation by a day(Oct 2nd) in a standard studio at Kidani. No studio was available ANYWHERE on property for that night according to two calls to Member's Services. I was thinking that maybe it was because that is the first weekend of the Food and Wine Fest. I decided on being put on the waitlist and to my total shock, 2 days later I looked at the member website and my waitlist came through! That was the first time a waitlist came through for me AND it was so fast! I was afraid that really good airfare rates would come up and I would have to decide to book without that extra night or wait it out.
So there is always hope!

That is one of the most popular times for DVC members. What might be low season for regular guests could be the hottest time of the year for DVC members, like in the case of early December.

I got a 2 bdrm Kidani about a month ago for that same time frame. I think you are far enough out a waitlist request might work. Good luck!

I am on a WL for a 2br at AKL for only 2 nights Dec 9th and 10th... I am hoping that they will declare more units and my WL will come thru!

I got a 2 bdrm Kidani about a month ago for that same time frame. I think you are far enough out a waitlist request might work. Good luck!

Last week I gave up a 2 bedroom at VWL for Dec 4 thru 7 and a 2 bedroom at Kidani for Dec 8. We are using my inlaws' RCI points for a week in December that showed up at RCI at OKW instead.
