Waitlist inquiry

Have never used the waitlist before and I will be trying for an upcoming trip. I have a reservation already in place at resort A and it is 237 points my desired waitlist for resort b is 212 points, I have only a few points remaing to borrow into this use year and I was wondering do they use resort As points to directly book for resort b then return the points to where they have came from. Or do they have to use points to book resort b while u still have resort a so u always have atleast one resort booked then cancel resort a and move points into resort b and return the rest. My problem is I don't have the points to reserve both at the same time for the few moments if that is how they do it. Also on the member waitlist page if the points are less for resort b can I just check the no I don't give dvc permission to borrow points since resort a would have enough points. Sorry if it is confusing.

Pick the WL option that Resort B is replacing reservations at resort A. If the waitlist comes through, they will use points from the first reservation to make the 2nd reservation.

All borrowed points stay in the borrowed UY. The second reservation will use borrowed and banked points first, then current UY.
