Waitlist for Thanksgiving

Well my waitlist for going to OKW for thanksgiving is coming down to its final week and I am not very optimistic that it will come through. I put this waitlist out there 7 months ago for Deluxe studio for Nov. 20 - 25th and just knew it would happen. But soon 7 days will be here and I will not get to go home. Plus I was just diagnosed with cancer and will not be able to make it back to the resorts for awhile since I start my treatments. Not getting the waitlist is a crushing blow. I still have a week so maybe the waitlist Disney God will shine down upon me and my family and we will be able to go.

So sorry about your diagnosis. Sadly, I would guess that your chances for a holiday week at this point are probably fairly slim. Have you looked to see if there is any availability for cash rooms through DVC? If so, maybe you could rent out your points and use the funds to cover the cash room. Best of luck.

My experience is that calling MS every day and logging into the DVC website every morning beats a waitlist every time

I just looked at the resort availability link, and it showed availability at SSR for the 24th and 25th. Both a studio and 1BR. It’s not OKW, but it’s close....

I stalked the DVC availability for weeks for something in Dec....finally mid day there was BWV 1 bd rm pool/garden for 5 nites.. mid Dec...i called immediately and got it....i realize of course every can't sit on there computer....this happened about 3 wks ago....got reasonable air fare too.....it happens...no waitlist...for me
