Waitlist for Dec. 27th...What are my chances?

Hi All--

I've been trying, and trying, to rent points for a studio (at pretty much any resort!) for Dec. 27-30. Finally, someone checked for me and got 2 of the 3 nights (28 & 29) at the BWV and they've reserved the two nights, pending my response. They have even very kindly waitlisted the 27th for me!

The dilemma: If the chances are pretty good that my 3rd day will come through, I'll agree to the deal. If it's too iffy, then I'd feel better just making my ressie for a moderate. So what do you all think? Has anyone had success waitlisting around a Christmas? My biggest worry is that I'll hold out too long, and not be able to get into any of the moderates (which are currently all wide open). Please offer suggestions and advice!! Thanks in advance!

You are looking at one of the busiest weeks at WDW. The nights that came through are the Friday & Saturday nights which use the most points and therefore are avoided by some DVC owners. My guess is that the waitlist for the other night is iffy. I'm guessing you have a BWV-Preferred View Pool & Garden room booked for those two nights?

I'm not good at pinning my hopes on the waitlist. Others do so often with generally good results. So I tend to be more conservative and would probably book the moderate and forget about BWV.

That's just me. YMMV.

Granny is very wise, so take his advice. You should have booked these dates months ago if you wanted to stay at Christmas time on DVC points.

Thanks for your responses. I think I've got time to gamble for a bit, and see what happens. Then, if that day doesn't come through, I'll make the moderate ressie...but I won't wait too long!

I think I will pick up that lottery ticket--Then I could afford to upgrade to the 1-bedroom
