Waitlist for BWV SV one-bedroom in January

I have a dilemma and I'm hoping someone has some advice for me. We're currently staying in a PV BWV studio from January 4-8, 2004. We're waitlisted for a SV BWV one-bedroom which is what we want. We don't have enough points for a PV one-bedroom, which there are still plenty of. So here's my question.

What kind of timing are we looking at for finding out if we got the waitlist or not? Obviously if something comes up earlier, they'd tell us, but are there rooms set aside for things that come up at 90, 60 or 30 days out (like CRO)? We're trying to make this trip as cheap as possible -- saving for Tokyo Disney (hooray) -- but if I start to get the sense the waitlist won't happen, I might be willing to pay cash for one night if I can get a good rate. So I'm just trying to get a feel for how things work and the CM at MS wasn't really clear -- she did say there was a good chance we'd get it, but how long should I wait before I start to "lose hope"?

Another question -- does anyone know when discounts for next year will become available? I checked out paying cash for one night, then booking the other 3 nights as PV, but there are no discounts yet. My sister is a CM, so I could probably even get her half price rate if it's available but they have absolutely no discounts for next year yet. How frustrating.

The waitlist is always a gamble, and as a genral rule I htink the standard view BWV units go quick and stay gone.

I think the cash discounts come out in the fall.
