Waitlist for BLT in Late-October

We just got our new Member Number/ID today, and I just booked our first trip in October......problem is, the member transfer took longer than expected, and I didn't get to book closer to the 11mos window. We are currently booked for 10/29 to 11/5--but I need the Thurs/Fri night to complete the trip. It is for a 1-bedroom lake view, which I really thought would still be available--even though I'm a little late.

I know this is a tough question to answer, but how many of your waitlists have come through for BLT at this time of year??? The other option is to book a Studio that is only missing the last night, but I really don't want to have to do that. We bought extra points to be able to stay in a 1-bed.

I would simply book what you can and then wait list. You are still within the home resort priority which means a lot can happen. I would put in a wait list for Thursday/Friday and then just Friday. If Friday comes through on its own, then adjust and just do Thursday..one night is much easier to get than two. You can also keep checking the website and if you see one of those days, grab it and adjust the wait list.

If you are willing to move, do the one bedroom for the first part of your trip, grab the studio for the last two nights, putting a waitlist on the one bedroom for the last two nights.. Worse case scenario, you have to move from the one bedroom to the studio for the last two nights, but at least you have something. Best case scenario, the WL comes through and you don't have to move.

Wait lists sometimes come through and sometimes not. If seeking only two nights odds of success are higher than if seeking more. Also, a 1BR is capable of coming open either by the cancellation of a 1BR or a 2BR since all 1BRs at BLT are part of 2BR lock-offs and thus there are a lot of rooms that could become 1BRs. Your downside is the nights you are seeking. Thurs and Fri, Nov 5 and 6 are part of one the highest DVC demand weekends of the year -- it is the end of Food & Wine, the Food & Wine half marathon is Saturday, it is part of Jersey week (when New Jersey has a fall break from school), and Christmas decorations at MK and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party usually begin on the Friday.

Thanks for the replies.....I was able to just book the entire stay in a Lake View Studio this morning. Not really my first choice, but I don't want to take the risk with a WL. We were forced to book later than expected due to the closing taking longer, so I'm happy that we got 'something' for the entire stay. We will just book a 1-bed for our next trip, and make sure it is right at 11mos.

Why not wait list the 1BR now for your entire stay? You know you have the studio if it doesn't work out.

Yes, WL your Lake View one bedroom. I would be very surprised if it didn't come through for you. I'm sure many people are booked in that room now, who will trade out at 7 months...
