Last May I booked a 2 BR at BWV for April vacation week. We own at both BWV and BCV and just stayed at BCV last July. I thought about switching over at exactly 7 mos (we have a 4yr old and two teens who love SAB)...but things were too hectic at the beginning of the school year and I forgot.
Then in mid-Sept we found out that vacations for both my daughter's in separate schools were shifted a week later in April because of a teacher's conference so we had to shift our reservations a week. There were some days available at BCV, but not the whole week. So I kept the 2BR at BWV and added a studio at BWV for 5 days with the extra points we had from the shift out of the prime week. (We offered the room to family members who all declined (???) and a friend of ours who is my husband's golfing buddie is going to take the room as our guest. He's a priest who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford onsite rooms. He's also my youngest's godfather....so we're thrilled he'll be with us).
When I finalized the ressie at BWV I put us on the waitlist for the same accommodations at BCV. Friday DVC called and said a studio had come available for our ressie dates, but not the 2BR - yet. I don't know whether to take it and split the reservation between the two resorts or leave it be at BWV and hope that two ressies come free at the same time at BCV. We'll be happy at either resort. I know the likelihood of getting both rooms together at BCV is probably nil and I don't want our friend to be on the other side of the lake from us.
Anybody have any experience doing this (splitting the ressie) and eventually getting what they wanted? We're 4 months out at this point....
Thanks in advance for your thoughts. I have to let DVC know by Tues at 5pm.
