Waitlist Didn't Come Through

I place myself on the HH waitlist for a one bedroom for a week in August. I knew it was going to be tough but just wanted to advise that it didn't come through. I have a two bedroom booked but wanted to size down. Now we have the extra room, we asked my MIL and husband. I blame DVC for making me spend a week with MIL .

DW, the kids and I are really looking forward to it. Less than a month for our first family trip home. DW and I took our first trip to BCV in May, and loved it.

Just for future reference, you CAN ask to be kept on the waitlist until 7 days prior to your reservation start date. Most cancellations occur over 30 days ahead of time, but there are times when people have to cancel at the last minute and have their points put in holding.

But, you'll love showing off the HH resort to your family....

I got one of my waitlists one week before our date. The last time I called to check, ms called the hotel directly and came back on the line and told me they had a studio for me. Sometime's it pays to wait, just make sure you have a backup.

I also had good luck with the WL.

I was on the WL for 7/3/03, popped off with 2 weeks to go and gave up 6/29/03. Then, I rented points for 6/29/03 ... it was not available on the Tuesday before that Sunday but popped up on Wednesday. So, I got one waitlisted studio at BVC at T-2weeks and the other at T-5 days .

You'll have a good time with your in-laws anyway .

This is exactly what I'm hoping for. I'm still wait listed for two nights: July 24th and 28th. I've been calling back every day to check and still nothing. Would it help for me to suggest calling the resort directly next time I talk to MS?

We have a HH studio for July 27 and are wait listed for a 1BR (I also have asked about a 2BR but we are not on the wait list). No luck so far.

No, calling the resort won't help . You might want to make a complete pest of yourself at T-7 days and call a couple times a day since they get cancelations all the time! Up until 7 days you do not need to call since I assume that you are still waitlisted. They will call you (or automatically assign you, which I suggest) when one of your dates pops up.
