I we have managed to get 5 nights in a value at jambo may 15-20th before moving home to wlv. Im very surprised to get this at 7 months but great. Can anyone tell me which floor the values are on, what view they have and what to suggest requesting. I have only stayed in kidani but DB and DB never been. Thankyou

DVC rooms are on the 5th floor, the values are smaller rooms left over when they converted the hotel rooms to DVC. I think that they are close to the lobby but I don't know for sure.

They don't take requests for the cause rooms. At least not view requests.

The Value rooms are located on the 5th floor, on the trails that are located on either side of the hotel entrance (Ostrich and Giraffe). The views are one of: parking lot, an alcove of the Sunset Savanna or the pool area. For obvious reasons they don't take view requests for the Value rooms. There are very few parking lot view rooms (two 2BR lockoffs) so your odds are good for getting either savanna or pool view. However the Values are always fully booked so somebody is going to get the parking lot view. There is a lot of vegetation in front of those rooms so it's not as bad as it sounds.

This map will show you where the Giraffe and Ostrich trails are in Jambo House. All of the non-white space on those trails are Value rooms.

Thanks for the map lisa. Tbh they all look good to me. As we arrive late we will probably end up with whats left anyway. Its a base and the resort is stunning. Thanks for everyones advice

They seem to give those with a short stay the savanna view. However it is really timing, someone has to check out of the room on the day you get there.

We have stayed in both the parking lot and pool views. The handicap parking lot was quieter and some of the pool views just have views of the tree tops. The thing that is nice about these value rooms, besides the point cost, is that they are close to the elevators compared to the long walk down the Zebra or Kudu trails.

We stayed in a 1 BR value last month for 5 nights which I was able to pick up only 3 mos. out. We had the very last room on Ostrich Trail overlooking the handicap parking lot. Mostly our view was trees and it was surprisingly quiet. The stairs down to the parking lot were right next to our room which was convenient as we had a car, but the door locked from the outside, so we couldn't get back up that way. Whenever I looked out the windows in the hall onto the savannah side, I never really saw many animals. Honestly I thought the rooms on the Giraffe Trail overlooking the pool had the best location. All the value rooms are very close and convenient to the lobby, but the elevator, pool, and restaurants are on the Giraffe side, so it's a little closer if you're down that way. Even not being able to request a particular location, our room was really nice and if we were lucky enough to get it, I'd love to stay there again!

Sounds like an alround winner then. We were originally having a savannah view but stretched another couple of nights at our home resort so saving a few points on a value is great. We are very fortunate to have got a value at 7 months seeing how few rooms there are. Great info guys.

I think the values at AKV are DVC's "best value". I got studio 5122 once, overlooking the savannah, and really thought I'd hit the DVC lottery! Although they won't take view requests, the CM told me on my next stay that I could request specific rooms. OK, so I asked for "Villa 5122 or near it". Nice try, but I got as far away as possible, overlooking the pool. But I still thought value villas were the best value.
