Waitlist (buying) questions?

Dh and I got on the waitlist for 150 more VWL points (Feb. UY) when we were at SSR 2 weeks ago. (Feb. 12th to be exact) Our guide told us that he thought that we would have them within a few weeks. He said that DVC was buying back a lot of contracts right now, so hopefully we wouldn't have to wait long. I of course am so impatient, I check my American Express online a couple of times a day to see if a deposit has been charged on the points ( a little tip I learned from these boards)! Any way I called my guide yesterday to check on more points. He said that they had 92 Feb. points available according to the computer, that he would check with the other department and see if anything was happening. He later called me and told me nothing yet, that the good news was that we weren't on the bottom of the waitlist, but we weren't at the top yet either. My question is this(finally!), if they have say the 92 points, and I'm on the waitlist first and I want the 150, but Jane Doe is also on the waitlist and she wants 75 points. Will they continue to pool points in the pot until they reach my 150 or will they skip over me and move on to Jane since they can meet her request right now? I should have asked more questions, but I don't want to be a pain in the butt. I really like my guide, I'm in no way concerned that he "isn't watching for my extra points." He assurred me that he wants me to have the points as much as I want them! I just wondered if anyone else had ever asked how this system works? Any words of wisdom for the impatient? Of course in my spare time yesterday I scoped out all the resale companies I could find and NONE of them have VWL Feb. points available, so even if they ROFR some contracts they won't be Feb. points for me !

A few weeks ago, I called looking for 100 points,BWV, Dec UY. I was told there were 27 pts available. So I took what was available and then went onto the waitlist for the rest. It only took about 2 weeks until the balance became available. But I was told no one else was waiting since the 27 were available, which meant that I would be the 1st on the waitlist by taking what was currently available. So, not sure how the system works, but I am happy to have gotten my points so quickly.

I'd buy what you can. Feb VWL is very popular. With that in mind, I put in for 30 VWL Feb. use year on the 11th of this month and got them on the 15th, 4 days later. On another thread, another diser just got (I think 50-75 points Feb VWL) the same day as me. I'd grab what you can and then waitlist for the rest, unless this is your first contract then you'd have to wait for the full 150.

I do not have much experience with this, but back in Nov. when we went on the waitlist for 50 BCV points and I inquired about the 'expected' wait time, my guide said that if 50 points came in and people before me wanted more, say 150, I would get the points first. I have heard others on this board say their guides told them differently, however. So, I am sorry I am still unclear on that issue. I did however, receive my points at the end of January, so it was not too long a wait.

Thanks for your replies. It just seems that since the minimum buy in is 150, that most of the time they would have that many points coming back at times. I know that some are smaller add on's, but you would think that most would be over the 150 point mark? Who knows? Any way, I'll keep waiting and hoping they come through soon. I'm a little conflicted with the current SSR incentives going away in a few days. I really want my add on to be the same as my original points at VWL. We liked SSR, but love the Lodge. I need to just be patient I guess.
