Waitlist availability affected by Copper Creek bookings?

So I understand that new owners of Copper Creek have been able to book since March 1st, but I'm not convinced that they will be overwhelmingly taking up the bookings/availability. However, it becomes available for all members to book on April 26 which would greatly impact it I would assume. I have reservation for late October at my home resort SSR, but also I have had 2 Waitlist requests in for BLT and BWV (studio) ever since the 7 month window opened. It hasn't even come close to happening according to the MS. Little to no movement from what they told me. Do you think that folks are just holding on to their current reservations until the Copper Creek villas are available to book? I have this hope that everyone will be so curious and/or eager to check out the newest option (I am okay waiting a while) that they will switch their booking from one of the resorts I have Waitlisted, opening a spot for me. Probably wishful thinking, especially with MNSSHP going on at that time but a guy can hope...

Thoughts?

I am hoping for something similar in regards to our Poly waitlist for Thanksgiving week. Hoping plenty of people are making that jump.

Might be some movement, but at least for BWV (and BCV), I think it will be very little or none at all. October bookings at BWV were almost certainly made because of Food & Wine. BRV / CCV / WL is just not a greatly desired location if one plans to spend a lot of time enjoying F&W activities. (Just as you apparently would like to be close to EPCOT for that time, right)?

While not quite to the same extent, BLT is also desirable because of the monorail to EPCOT.

Since there aren't that many studios available at CCV yet, I'm not expecting to see much impact at all on the other near-park resorts when 4/26 rolls around. But I wish you luck - you just never know!

I have to agree with @CarolMN. There simply isn't a lot of CCV declared to be booked on points to be able to make things move "greatly." They declared 48 units that can be booked on points right now:
3 Dedicated Studios
4 Dedicated One Bedroom Villas
10 Lockoff Two Bedroom Villas
17 Dedicated Two Bedroom Villas
2 Grand Villas
12 Cabins

The other 74% of the resort is cash booking only. Also, declaring 12 cabins in the initial is crazy, but there you go. Unless people switch from Lock-Off 2BRs to cabins, I don't expect studio availability to loosen up elsewhere or make waitlist dreams come true. Total available studios, best case, in this declaration is 13.

Wow, 3 studios! I was getting ready to purchase, but the week I'd be there may not even be available (and perhaps difficult to get in the future). It's not super popular, but it is December (3rd week). Is this declaration in proportion to all eventually available villas?

Initial declaration is ~24% of the resort.

The entire resort:
42 Dedicated Studios
20 Dedicated One Bedroom Villas
36 Lockoff Two Bedroom Villas
56 Dedicated Two Bedroom Villas
4 Grand Villas
26 Cabins
__
184 vacation homes/max 220 bookable units

So declaring only 3 of the dedicated studios but 12 of the cabins is a bizarre move to my mind, but I'm sure they have some genius plan in their heads. There's nothing proportional about the initial declaration, as 3/42 is 7% of the dedicated studios, and 12/26 is 46% of the cabins. They declared half the GVs, 20% of the dedicated 1BRs, 30% of the dedicated 2BRs, and 28% of the lock-offs. If every unit that can be booked as a studio is booked as a studio when the entire resort is declared, that's 78 studios. Obviously, some people may book 2BR lock-offs instead of dedicated, which will reduce studio inventory.

I'd buy a fixed week for anytime in December, TBH.

Thank you so much for posting all of this!

As more units are sold, more villas will be available for points inventory.

Very good point, I hadn't considered the F&W but I should have. Just me living in my own little world again. No actually we aren't attending F&W, just going for MNSSHP. We like to try a different resorts as often as we can. BWV and BLT are next up on our list that's all.

Hadn't seen those numbers. Thank you for the information.

Great information, thank you!!

I had read that declared units has little to do with units available to book with points.

I'm staying at bwv during food and wine and food and wine means absolutely nothing to me.

I checked the RAT for my October stay (3 nights). Two out of the three already unavailable. So that answers that.

I need 4 nights in October, in a dedicated 2BR, so I am somewhat hopeful. I hope it is available to book online, that would help me because I am not modifying an existing room reservation. Fingers crossed.

Resort Availability Tool

You can access it after you sign on to the Members website. It's a choice under the PLAN VACATIONS tab.

Do you have to own at CC right now to see what is open on the RAT for it? It does not show up as an option for me on the RAT but I own at SSR and AKV
