Waitlist and DDP - I didn't know this

DD had a res for SSR and we added the DDP. She was waitlisted for other resorts and I got a call today that VWL had come through. The CM could not just cancel the SSR res and apply the points to VWL because of the DDP. She had to call me back (about an hour later) after it had been done. The system doesn't let them cancel a room that has a DDP added to it. After speaking with the CM, it seemed that it would be a better idea to add the DDP just before your vacation, in case plans change. I didn't know that!
 
Sounds like a CM training issue to me - or maybe it's part of the recent computer problems MS has been having.
 
Hmmm....she didn't sound "new". Said she was a member, too. And now I can't get on to the member website to check and make sure everything is OK. Yikes!
 

Ok, I guess she IS new! She messed up. I just checked my points, and now have points in a holding account!!! I will call MS tomorrow, hopefully I can get this cleared up. I did think it was odd when she gave me a new res number.

I would certainly call MS to verify that you have what you expect - but - you should have a new reservation number since you basically had to cancel the original one at SSR and make another at VWL.

Spoke with MS this afternoon. Apparently there was a glitch in their computers yesterday that would not allow them to change a res that had DDP attached to it. The points have to be adjusted manually, which explained why I was seeing "holding points" when I logged on to my account. It will be fixed Monday or Tuesday. CM told me to check on line Tues. and to call Wed. to make sure all was well. I feel much better now!

Thanks for letting us know - your experience just didn't seem right and now we know what happened.
