Ok, well we finally closed on our resale on July 1st. Made my first call to member services today & we aren't in the system yet. I know it will happen but I am just feeling so anxious to get started.
In, out, in, out....that's my trying to deep breath to remain calm.
So excited & want my member # & to make my first ressies.
Wonder when I can reasonably expect to be in the system?
So happy to be a DVCer.

If you closed on July 1st, the info still has to be sent back over to Disney which they probably got a little later because of July 4th. I'd guess by the end of next week they'll have you up and running.

It's maddening, but not as bad as waiting for a hurricane. It usually takes 10 business days, and I'm guessing they're a little behind due to all the SSR sales ahead of the price increase.

Don't be surprised if they tell you that you're "in the system," but no points. A lot of times the points go in the next business day. That happened to us and others have reported the same.

I'm in the same boat as you. We closed on June 30 and still aren't in yet. I called my broker and they told her that they are behind because some people are on vacation. I think they are also behind because of the holiday. They told me to call back towards the end of next week.

Well, I called today & we are in the system....
No points yet, but I have heard they are usually available the next day. So I'm all set to call tomorrow & make my first ressies hopefully. I asked about what I am looking for for Jan & she said it was available.

I can't wait for our first trip home. Luckily we have another WDW trip already planned so we don't have to wait until January. Hmmmm, might have to go ahead & add another ticker. Woo hoo!!

Melanie-I was in the system all day yesterday and still no points this morning either. I am dying to book! They said my points should be in later today. I hope so. I am going crazy!

I called this morning & this afternoon & still no darn points.
I am so anxious to book my first ressie. I have to work a 12hr shift tomorrow so I now won't be able to call until Thursday.

I didn't think you had to actually have the points in your account to make the reservation.... just that you had to be in the system.

If (I mean WHEN!) my contract goes thru, I want to make reservations for Oct 2006 ASAP even though my points won't renew until October 2006.

I don't know....all I know is that I don't think you can make any ressies until your points show up. We bought a contract with all the 2005 points available so we should have all 210 pts showing up. Now why it is 2 seperate steps to put us into the system & then make sure the points you have available are there I don't know. I talked to my new assigned guide & she said it is something to do with putting in the points manually & that mine should be in there tomorrow for me to make reservations.
Do you have 2005 points available on the contract you are buying...if not then what I think you can do is borrow your 2006 points or something. I don't know...it's all new to me.

When I called I could check availability but there were no points to book with. They couldn't even borrow any because she didn't even know how many points I have to spend. We even have 29 banked points with our 2005 points.

Melanie-I called AGAIN this afternoon and still NO points. If I thought I was going crazy before, I'm even more crazy now. Maybe tomorrow. At least I know there is availability for the time period I want.

Nope, I won't have any points until Oct 2006 (unless I end up getting another contract early next year). So I guess if you have to have the points before you can book a reservation... then I'd have to borrow.
But wait... if I borrowed points from Oct 2006 to make a reservation now, wouldn't I have to use them before September 31, 2006?

I can already tell I'm gonna have to study up on how the points work.

I have about had it! I called again today and my points STILL aren't there! My info has been in the system since Monday and now it is Wednesday and still no points. I thought it happened almost at the same time. I'm really starting to lose my paitence. I feel like they are holding my points hostage!
