My boyfriend and I both got new teaching jobs in a great county about an hour away for this upcoming school year. We put in an application to rent a house, and are waiting to hear back! We LOVE the house, it would be a great place to live...I'm soooo nervous!
Our credit is not the greatest (it's not horrible, either) but we are working on it, I'm just afraid that we will lose the opportunity to rent the house because of it!
This is a nicer house in a great area and I'm afraid that they'll wait for an older couple, married couple who may be more dependable renters. I'm waiting for a call back either today or tomorrow...we could use some good thoughts! This is an exciting time for us as our jobs (we are teachers) are in great schools, near friends and family, and we are hoping to be engaged soon (LOL as soon as we can save money again after all of the moving costs!
) but it would be so great to have this in place.
Anybody have any "just starting off" stories? Anyone work hard to get their credit on track, and in a good place now! Our goal for this next year is to pay everything off early/on time, pay extra on his student loans and my car, and be frugal!
Sorry for the rambling...I'm just nervous and hopeful! I know it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't work out, but I sure hope it does!!!

Lots of people are coping with stressful debt situations these days. It's hard. But it's great that you and your partner have a plan to rectify things. Fingers crossed for you
