Hello! I am hoping to make an ADR for Ohana dinner on Nov. 23rd for 8 people. Do you think I would be better off when I search trying to get a 4 person reservation? And then hopefully another 4 person one will pop up over the next couple of weeks. Can I then combine them somehow? We all have to sit together...it's my mom's 60th birthday. Or do I just need to search for 8 constantly? Thank you!!

I would make a back up ADR somewhere else and keep searching for 8 people at Ohana. Unfortunately it is kind of late to be making an ADR for someplace as popular as Ohana, so you may not get one for such a large group. Is there someplace else you would all like?

I would also not go the 4 + 4 route. There is no guarantee they would sit you all together at the same table.

Thanks for your response. I do have a back-up ADR. I have been trying to get a reservation for 8 there for over a month. I'm hoping since we are staying at the Polynesian maybe they can help us out. Or we can just go there right when they open and stand in line. Thank you again!

It's good you have a back up plan. People have been making reservations for 'Ohana since May so at this point you can only hope for a cancellation. I would keep checking online multiple times a day because people will cancel if their plans change since this is a credit card guarantee restaurant. Since people cancel all the time it is a matter of luck that you are online checking just as an 'Ohana res re-enters the system. For a party of 8 I would also try to be more flexible about the time - later reservations (after 9:00) tend to be easier to get and the day - try for any day during your vacation.

Since you have to sit all together you'll need to find a table for 8 or more. While there's no guarantee a party of 8 would be seated together, you stand a better chance than combining 2 smaller reservations, especially if they aren't for the same time.

There's no guarantee that staying at the Poly or walking up at opening will ensure a table for your group so as much as possible I would try for a reservation.
