We are currently on a waiting list for Old Key West for a studio for the week of October 12 -October 18. With current resorts closing and this being a holiday (Columbus day), What would you guess our chances of getting a studio for the whole week? Right now we are booked in a one bedroom for Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Do we have more than a chance in h&ll of getting this? Let me know.

Yes, while it is getting close, I think you still have a good shot. Were it later in the month, while the food and wine festival is going on, I would say it is less likely.

Richt now, you are missing a tuesday in the one bedrom, do you have that night reserved elsewhere?

You have the best shot if you waitlist each day seperately. This way you aren't waiting for the entire thing to open. Your one drawback would be the number of points you have. If two or three unconnected days come up, you still need to keep your original reservation and have the points to reserve those rooms also...this way as it gets closer, you can make a decision or possibly have the reservation you want.

As it gets closer, you can still opt for three or four nights in one and the rest in the other.

You might try calling CRO at the regular 407-WDISNEY number to see if they have a studio available for cash where you are staying--I assume that the rest of your ressie is on pts. If you are a member, you can try to book with a member discount at MS. If neither of these works out, find out which resorts have a room available, and book that room as a back-up, in case the waitlist doesn't come thru. You have to have that night, so be prepared, just in case.
