Waiting in line for a ride

I refuse to wait in any line more than 15-20 minutes. If you get there early, collect FPs, and follow Hydroguy's tips, there is no reason you ever have to. I will never understand people who go to DL mostly for the rides, but refuse to get up early and collect FPs. 60 minutes' wait for a 3 minute ride? No way!

There are a lot of great rides that don't have Fastpasses, though.

It does seem that the rides that have the longest waits do have FP. An exception to this is Toy Story, Nemo and Peter Pan of course. I think it is really important to arrive at the park early and be one of the first in the gates. That first hour or two are a good time to collect FP and go on those rides that will probably have a longer wait later. In the last couple years, I have used RideMax and my version of HydroGuys tips to have a great day with waits of 20 minutes or less for practically everything. Even during busy times. :yay:

Yes, and as I mentioned earlier TSMM is the one ride that does not work with this approach very well. Which is a bummer.

If you do TSMM first thing and arrive early at DCA, that means you have to miss DL time (unless DL opens at 10 that day - e.g., an off season day). That is different of course than DL where if you arrive early you do not miss anything (except maybe an hour of sleep and/or some breakfast ;)).

Fortunately the TSMM lines have come down far enough that it is possible to do this most afternoons with a 30 minute wait max. Still kind of long but not terrible. And you can always fall back to single rider which works OK as long as your group does not have young children.
