Waiting for the bus......

We just got back and the bus situation was HORRIBLE! We have never waited longer! Here's just 1 example. We took a bus to DTD from POP Century. After we were done shopping we decided to take a bus to GF to see the ginger bread house. When we got to the bus stop there was one other couple there waiting for the same bus. They told us that the bus should be coming soon because they were waiting for 20 minutes already. We sat there for over 1 hour. I know that DTD is pretty far away from everything but when 3 Fort Wilderness and 2Wilderness Lodge busses come you know you've been sitting there too long. We gave up and got on the 2nd Contemporary bus that came and took the monorail over to GF. There were several other situations that were not great either. Having said that, I will say that I have never seen it busier! It was crazy busy everywhere we went.

I have never been a fan of the DTD bus stops, especially in the evenings.....

Sorry you had so much trouble. We've had the same experience at DTD, it's why we stopped heading over there, it's just too much trouble and aggravaation getting back to BWV.

I also had issues getting out of DTD on the buses. I waited about 1/2 an hour but others were waiting much longer.

This trip was my first experience with Epcot resort buses and I must say that it was not good. I didn't realize that the BW, Swan, Dolphin, YC and BC ALL share the bus to Animal Kingdom. We were staying at the BW so would get off at the first stop (Swan) and would beat the bus to the BW by 15 minutes with walking from the Swan. I think I heard more complaints about the buses this trip than any of my other trips.

I had a similar issue at DTD; I posted on another thread and luckily one of the bus drivers addressed the question - but the issue still lingers.

I was going from POR to OKW. Ironically, the bus stop no. 1 is for both resorts (never figured out why.) I had front row seats for the buses as they stopped at the stop sign, and as they are proceeding to the stops, they would switch the sign from DTD to the respective resorts.

I watched as four POFQ buses came by as well as five SSR buses, with a few scattered in between.

I started to notice how they make the loop and then exit onto the highway, right in front of bus stop no. 1 across the way. There I look and there are three buses in a row, waiting at the stop sign and what do they all say - OKW! They passed me right by, switched the sign to OKW around the loop and off they want.

I just don't get it; the DTD hub would be a great thing to bring more people from the resorts to shop there, but the bus service is so sketchy, it is hardly worth going over there.

It's Poly, GF and Wilderness Lodge. Or at least it was a few weeks ago.

When I went last week the Poly and CR were sharing and the GF and Wilderness were sharing. Maybe it depends on crowd levels.

Thanks! I'll have to remember to look at the signs carefully to be sure we get on the right bus. LOL I'm actually hoping there's a dedicated bus to TTC because it'll be easier to just walk from there to Poly than the deal with a shared bus. I'm not a huge DTD fan and had no intentions of going, partly because of transportation, but now we HAVE to go so we can check out Babycakes.

There is no bus to the TTC from DTD. Your best bet is going to take the Polynesian bus...sorry.

Thanks! I could have sworn I read that but clearly I'm wrong. Oh well. I'll watch the signs carefully for which bus will go to Poly.

How was your trip goofy4tink have fun? You get to use the free drink on jet blue? Did you meet magicbus this time or any other dis drivers?

Hey, you stole my phrase!!

I think Disney should make 1300 magicbus clones to Handle the buses since him and cranbiz and forgot the third busketer are the only capable drivers on in Disney. Well If magicbus had 1300 clones I think he would have other ideas in mind what to do with them.

clanmcculloch....you are forgiven.

disney david..nope, I didn't get that free drink. My friend offered it to me but I said no. The last thing I needed at that moment was alcohol..no telling what may have come out of my mouth.
I didn't get to meet magicbus this time. I wasn't around the resort very much. But I did run into some truly wonderful bus drivers...they were a hoot and I had some really good conversations with them.
