I have been waiting for SW to open their booking dates to March. So far it is still just up to Jan. It says Sept. 1 they will open the booking up. So, I guess I wait.....

Anyone else waiting for this?

Also waiting is says on the travel page that they are accepting resverations through march but can not book past jan????? The waiting is driving me crazy!!

I checked at 9:00 at is still said Jan. then a little while ago it said March, but you still can't book. It looks they are doing something, but come on, they are so slow. How frustrating! :) I am hoping to get good fares for President's Week.

Was so close, it opened for March, but as soon as I selected the dates it said they were not accepting those dates.

Wooo-hoo

For my trip to Tampa in Jan, got $81 each way from Chicago.

For my trip to Orlando got $98 on the outbound and $89 on the return.

I am happy to be done!

SW site still going in and out, but got Pres Week--Business Select at crazy prices, but at least I'm booked and they are refundable. If all else fails at least I can have a free drink!

I'm a bit peeved...couldn't book online (still says via Jan 8th) so I called at 1010a. The lady told me they've been booking since early this morning via phone.
The flight times thatwould have been IDEAL for us, are already sold otu of the cheapie fares and were a good $65 more per person. So how the heck do you sell out of the lowest fares on the best flight times when you haen't even opened up bookings online yet?

Should I hold off a few days? Last time I booked on the first day - 2 days later the fare went down $30 per person. I have flights on hold but I'm not happy about the times or the price.

Any ideas??

Got in. click on book travel at the top and you can book. that is how i did it. The main page was still saying jan. Prices are crazy but hoping for a decrease as time goes on. Gotta get away from the snow up her so what are you to do. Jet blue was even more expensive.

Finally got in too....
Still trying to figure out how the "lowest" fares are already sold out on certain flights.

Either they aren't loaded yet, or SW thinks it can sell the flight out starting at the higher price.

There really isn't any reason to offer any seats at the deeply discounted fare buckets for flights that are likely to sell out at higher prices. Families flying during President's week, who want to maximize their week, may have to pay more then they'd like. People on DIS don't want to hear this but high fares on peak flights is what allows airlines to offer deeply discounted fares on off-peak flights.

Some posters may have missed booking the "cheap" seats but it's possible cheap seats weren't offered.

Airlines don't follow this policy but I've read any fare that sells out in a few days never should have been offered. The airline could have sold the seats at a higher fare.

I am so tired of Southwest if you did book a flight it goes to Jan 8 but if you do book travel it gives you March 12 sometimes and sometimes Jan 8 and sometimes an error.

They are second only to Disney for poor programming

Why can't they just open it at a set time and date so we don't wait around all day?

It's 10:54 NY time and I got the SW schedule for dates thru Mar. Right now from Islip to MCO the lowest is $114 each way. Don't know if I should wait or not. Any thoughts?

$250 is a reasonable, but not dirt cheap, R/T fare. I'd book it if it's the flights you want. You might wait if you're flexible and are willing to book a different flight, maybe even a different day.

Got Lucky!!!! :cool1:Nonstop BWI to MCO for $59 both ways! I was able to get through at about 10:40 am going through the "book travel" tab.

Now if only I could get a good rental car rate!!! LOL!

Good Luck to all!:thumbsup2
