Waiting for Rest of Fall 2015 Room Only Discount

Would anyone change their existing Boardwalk Villa rack rate room for a Polynesian Standard Villa that would cost approximately $230 total less for 7 nights? This is our first adult-only trip and going primarily for the last weekend of F&W festival. Was really hoping for a discount but nothing is available. I can't decide!...ugh. I'm sure the Poly would be beautiful, but not sure if the savings are enough to change the whole feel of the vacation...

No, I wouldn't do it. Not for $230. Especially if you're going to squeeze in the F&W festival. I only changed from the BWV to POR because there were no appreciable discounts or availability at the other deluxes, and my cost went from $404/night to $161. That is a total of $1944 difference for us.

Agreed. Discount and availability is pretty lame. I ended up booking on Orbitz. POR and POFQ both include the room discount and I stacked the extra discount. There's availibility and it's a better discount. Go check out Orbitz everyone if you can't find the room you are looking for! CBR also had availibility. For some reason the room isn't discounted but you can use the Orbitz discount.

So frustrated... sat on hold for forever to see if there was any availability I could have applied to my parents' trip in early December. Got a CM who told me that because they have a magic your way package booked, room only discounts can't be applied at all as there is no way to get the RO discount with this package, they would have to book a room only reservation and then buy the tickets separately if they wanted to have a chance at the discount. However, when I logged into her MDE earlier to see if I could change the reservation, there were RO discount offers that could be applied to their package if they changed resorts (but none showing at their current resort hence why I called just to be sure). I also know first hand that last year I had a MYW package booked and called in and had a CM apply the RO discount to just our room reservation costs, and I didn't have to change up or switch around my package. Am I just crazy for thinking the CM was wrong and I wasted my time sitting on hold? Someone please let me know if I'm way off base with my understanding...

I'm at the Wilderness Lodge on FD for ten nights. How would I go about figuring out if my FD or the new fall room discounts are better?

Simply price your trip out on the website using the room-only discount and see what the price difference is. Make sure you include your package components (tix and dining) to compare apples to apples. If you have trouble, just post your dates and package components on here (room category, tix and dining) and I'm sure someone will price it out for you.

I have a MYW package and was told the discount wasn't available for my resort, but was available if I switched resorts. So my opinion is the CM was wrong.

no discount at por for my stay nov10-14. orbitz has a discount saving me $135.should I go through hassle of canceling Disney reservation? should I wait and see if Disney changes? also will Disney match orbitz? thanks

CM was VERY wrong! and that is why I cannot deal with calling them myself, I would have been more than frustrated to have been told that. They are always misinforming people.

I would book it first on Orbitz, then cancel with Disney. A phone call to WDW to save $135 isn't much of a "hassle" to me. No, Disney will not match Orbitz.

** By the way, you should be able to cancel your POR reservation online (at My Disney Experience) without having to call WDW.

I didn't get my POR discount and checked Orbitz...am I doing something wrong as its more per night than I'm already paying with Disney $200.40 vs $266 or $226.1 with 15% discount...

That's awesome! I didn't see Poly for our dates in October . We switched from BLT to WL so between the change and the discount we are saving about 60%, well worth it as long as DH will guide me back on the bus after F&W . I promise to be a drunk but that monorail was awfully appealing. DH is excited about the boat rides though.

I was the Disney site until 5am making FP reservations for September and there was no late Fall discounts yet, I go to sleep for a couple hours and look what happens.

We are going the week after Thanksgiving and we don't do pools then anyway. Went the same time last year and didn't think the construction was a big deal compared to the convenience. Excited to experience the new section.
