Waiting for plane

I'm sitting in the orlando airport waiting for my plane home- and thought I'd touch base and say I had a great time in WDW.

DH and I did go to VMK Central and created characters for the kids and ourselves. And we did all the quests- good news is that they were still accepting the expired TomorrowLand Quest print outs- bad news is no pirate quest cards being handed out. The first CM we spoke with said "they were out"- the second said they pulled them to create a new quest that will be out "soon" (my guess is sometime around when the next movie comes out)

We did get most of the other cards formally given on tours though- will have to wait to update with a complete list of what I got- but we did get a Nemo Chair and tent room, safari lifestyle and the two posters in the set- of "extras" We had also had our own pdfs for gold set, nemo chair and tents so that worked out well.

The lady in the Frontierland Pin shop- is great- she doesn't play VMK herself but she knows all about it and tells everyone about it- she saw us and asked us before we even purchased anything if we had heard about it and gave us 4 cards (for the two of us) we didn't buy anything that day but went in the next day and purchased and she gave us a few more too. We purchased candy for the penny press cards and ended up with a few of those. We also got a few Cards for Wanted posters just by asking for them- Now for gold hat cards- dh purchased 20 sets of ears and they gave us 21 ear cards- lol- (dh is giving ears to his employees because they have an incentive trip planned to disney soon and he wanted something neat to introduce the idea with lol). I forgot to go to shirt shop and ask for shirt cards- so that is the only card we didn't get in that group lol

Had a great time though and a fun time with VMK stuff- looking for all the quest answers after the fact lol. Also met a great friend while there- who I first met in VMK - boy Disney is missing out by not sponsering meets with the adults... Missed meeting DisAeryn thanks to my computer access being limited in Orlando- and me forgetting to get her number sooner- maybe next time...

well I'll give a better update of the other cards later- I did go on as myself today to get credits and saw the Polynesian Pin- and have read hear about the Grand Cali Pin- and bought some other pin last weekend- (can't remember which) Did I miss anything else? Well other than the new homepage I did see that this morning in VMK Central- pretty cool but awfully confusing when you aren't used to seeing it.

Ok I checked through my cards. And DH and I received almost all of serries 1- the only ones in that serries we missed out on were the Haunted mansion set (HM room, Madam Leota Table, Crystal Ball set, Haunted tree, Master Gracey clock, invisibility magic- etc) and the 500 credit and the VIP pin. (dh was most upset about the not getting VIP pin)-

But we did get things like the safari lifestyles, gorilla and rhino posters, pink nemo chair, tent room, and others- they gave us all the official quest cards for the four current quests (including the expired tomorrowland quest) plus ten "extra" cards and the bracelet (why do we even earn a bracelet pdf if they are giving you one for completing the quests and won't give you an extra? and why the same bracelet for everything?)

And like I mentioned before dh and I did have goldset pdfs from hidden mickey quest, Nemo chairs from fireworks high score, and tent rooms from Jungle Cruise High score...

We got 4 of the 5 cards we could get at WDW with in park purchases (or in case of some just asking)- still can't believe we forgot to go ask for cards in shirt shop. I think we weren't too worried about getting the shirt on card but wasn't until sitting in airport that we realized we never asked for that card even lol.

So No serries 2 cards were given out at all- but on review of the items the only thing I don't have from that serries (besides any of the holiday stuff) was the pirate sand... and the cards of course- I was hoping to get more of pirate quest- it gets tough trading for stuff for the kids and I was actually hoping for a bit of a break there...

So not too bad as a whole- took forever to get them all entered- and I Was surprised not to get a "time out" on code entering lol.

We did put our 2 cents in for wishes for the tours to return and that is when we got a long drawn out explanation about problems with the VMK tours and the paid tours interfering with staffing- apparently the VMK tour was more popular than they expected- I suggested they offer the tour for a small fee (less than regular tours) and only to those who would do all quests or something.

We also suggested they expand the VMK experience to other parks- every ride that snaps a photo would be a great place for a VMK card with purchase thing- and they could be really creative with those too.

And of course the pin- the CM we spoke with in VMK Central wouldn't say anything definite but lead us to believe that there was a possibility that the pins would be made available in the future- sigh

Well DH has another trip planned in March and if he is using different tickets he should be able to redeem more pdfs and repeat the quests again- so that will help to get kids some things... and I can be jealous of missing out on that trip- lol
