And not too patiently, I may add. Hurry, hurry, hurry! :yay:

When someone said the fall specials would come out after the current one expired (4/27/06), would you expect it to come out this week? Or are we talking weeks away? (Sigh...)

I checked my Disney Visa and there's a new deal!!

You get a tote bag and preferred parade viewing! Also double disney rewards for the trip on your card!

(The ! are sarcastic) I'm guessing this isn't what you mean :)

I'm new to DL (WDW vet). What kind of fall deal do you think they might have?

I just called and asked, I was told, "nothing has been released and there is no target date for the fall specials". Sorry I know that is not what you wanted to hear!

Well fudge!

I am trying to decide whether to take my August 31st 7th birthday in late August or if it will be cheaper to go the first week of September and miss the crazy Labor Day weekend crowds. The rates go down for sure, but I want to know if they will have a special, and ticket deal and, and, and!

My theory is....that they will have one. They are already showing commercials and there are new billboards that are about it being "Not to Late to Celebrate!" so they are making a last push. I cannot imagine that they wont want to end the 50th with a huge big full park and hotels.

I expected them to be out by now. Last year they had them out in April for the fall. I have a notice on my Disney dashboard (ap thing) to watch for an ap special in May for a "bring a friend" special. Ok, great, today is May, whats the special???

Hi, have already booked our Disney Package online for 6 nights at GCH including park hopper passes. If the new deal works out better, do you think they will let me change over if the same dates are available?

Has anyone done this successfully in the past?

Cheers

I think you might have to pay a change fee- per the change / cancelation policy. It varies depending on how far out the change is.

My TA said that the fall usually (though not always) brings another Kids Fly/Play Free special.

Thank you for checking. Guess I'll just have to wait... :surfweb:

ACK! I think I'm supposed to notify Disney within 10 days whether I'm rescheduling or cancelling our (previous) booking. If I reschedule, are they going to make me set a date and book at that time??? (Um, that would be TOMORROW...)

I haven't really seen a kids play free in the fall - usually you get 4th night free at the resort hotels & 3rd night free at some of the Good Neighbor hotels.

Really? That's good to know!
I am trying to talk dh into taking a Disneyland trip every year for the next 3 years. I've got it all planned out. Now I just need to get dh on board!

That's weird. Did you check under Disneyland? The "deals" are nothing exciting. Just the tote bag and preferred viewing. There's 10% off tours too. And a few other little things...

I was expecting a 4th night free kind of deal, and asked the girl @ Disney about it - Wanted to know if I stayed 8 nights, if 2 would be free; she didn't think so, but wasn't sure.

When I mentioned this to my TA (long story, but I haven't been too impressed with them), he said there's almost always a Kids Fly/Play Free in the fall.

Either way, if I'm required to book today, I don't think I will get either. :sad1:

I've been told that if sales are strong, they won't offer a special. They only need to give deals if they are having a hard time selling packages. I think there are a lot of people wanting to go in the Fall before the celebration ends, so maybe they don't need any help getting them to come.

That makes sense, and likely to be the case. I was hoping to book for the last week in September, but looking on non-Disney sites, they show no rooms available (at DLH.) I checked at the Disney site several days ago, and there were rooms available, but they might be gone now. Guess I'd better call and find out what I need to do.

I went and took a look for you on the Disney Travel Agents web site and there is avaliability for the last full week of Sept. at all the resort hotels. I also looked to see if Disney had released any info on specials for the fall to us agents and they have no info whatsoever, sorry to say.

I know that there are going to be a few attractions that are slated to go down during the last two weeks of september, they are...( subject to change of course) The Haunted Mansion, California Screamin, The Monorail, and Its Tough to be a Bug.

If I can help you in anyway give me a holler.

The bad news: I just found out that Disney cancelled the previous reservation; thought we had 10 days to decide whether to reschedule or cancel. (The difference is $75 change fee v. 1/2 the cost of our package, OUCH!) So here's hoping we can get the necessary paperwork from the hospital for the trip insurance claim!

The good news: I am therefore free to book the new vacation from whatever source I choose! (We had planned to reschedule, but that would have meant going through the same agent again, and it hasn't been a positive experience.)

So I truly am starting over, at the bottom. But this time I have more information about cutting costs and other tips, so I think I can come up with something better.

For instance, I just called Disney for up-to-date pricing on the character meals. Wanted to compare it to the price noted in the package, because I know the cost of the breakfasts are not all the same, but you pay one set price as part of a package. Well, guess what? The price with the package is MORE than the cost of the most expensive breakfast if paid for separately! And that's even before taking into account a AAA discount we could use!

So now I'm wondering how best to book. Several people said they always book the different parts (airfare, hotel, tickets) separately, and that sounds the way to go. And now no rush to book...except to hit the late September date, of course.

Thanks, folks, for making me a little wiser... :)

I've been waiting too, but i got tired of waiting. WDW's food promo is amazing so I'm going there.
