Waiting for Boardwalk Studio

Hi all! We have had a studio booked for Old Key West for about a month now to stay from May 27-31. This morning, I had a mini panic attack thinking about how much we LOVE the Boardwalk! Not so much the rooms, but the pool, the walking distance to the 2 parks, the night entertainment........ So I called to switch. Of course, I knew we would have to wait list, and though I know my chances are slim, does anyone have any encouraging Boardwalk waitlist stories to share? Don't get me wrong, we will make the most out of OKW if we stay there, and who knows, maybe we will end up loving it as we do the Boardwalk! Just for a short trip, I think it will be nice to be withing walking distance to 2 parks!

Well, you are within 30 days now and any member cancelling would have their points go into holding. So I think your chances are not that good for the BWV.

Why not pool hop to BWI/BWV for a day?

Start calling the week before. This is what I did at Christmas and ended up with BWV for all the nights. From what I understand the CRO rooms sometime open up, but it is not until 6 or 7 days before. I just called each day and the CM would put me on hold for a few minutes and come back with the room for exactly a week out. I think the last call I made I was able to get two nights to complete the reservation. Yes, it was a pain, but it paid off in the end.

Well, we had a BLT one bedroom booked from may 7th-10th.
Then the people we were going with bailed on us (Lesson learned, by the way). So we called MS to try to get a studio, of course, no such luck.....they had a standard view one bedroom booked at bwv. We took that, and after they backed out AGAIN, (long story), we waitlisted for a studio, and about two weeks later, we got a GV studio.

Thanks so much for all of your encouraging replies!!! We know we will have a great time either way - I'm just really missing the Boardwalk! But who knows - maybe after this trip we will be mising OKW!!! I will definately start calling a week out and see if there are any changes. Thanks again!

We decided the second week of April that we wanted to extend our May trip by a few days. It will just be DH and I, so we wanted a BWV studio. It was available for 3 of the 5 days we wanted, and we waitlisted for the other 2. The waitlist was filled in a week.
