Waiting for August Hours - All hours are up!!

I am so disappointed that the hours are not out yet. Very unprofessional of such a large company who's primary job should be customer service. Its things like this that make their bottom line smaller because they make poor decisions.

It truly is ridiculous. Whatever the ADR reservation policy date is, calendars should be posted 30-60 days in advance of that timing. Period. There is way too much to plan to get the calendars less than 90 days out. Very poor customer service and very frustrating.

We're trying no hoppers for the first time this visit. We bought them for our family of five last time ($250) and used them exactly once in 9 days (to see Fantasmic on a day before a break for us).

However, since this will be a shorter visit, I'm wondering if we'll miss them more. Especially since we'll be doing the free dining and may need it just to get the ADR's. Guess if I ever get park hours and make ADR's I'll decide at that time. I'd just rather spend the money on the water parks option if anything (although I'm not planning on that either now again because it's only 6 days).

I could have written your post! I guess if it is horrible without the hoppers I could call and have them added right? When we went in Jan. DHS was crazy one day (tour groups) and we hopped over to Epcot.

Ugh! The not knowing the park hours is really a pain!

While we wait...I thought you would be a great group to ask this question.

The only reason we are going is to take advantage of the free dining. We just did POFQ/Jan8-18 and didn't think we'd go again for awhile so this has to be a budget trip.

Question #1....The 16th is the first day for the free dining but we would like to fly in on the 15th so that we can have a whole day on the
16th. What is the best way to handle the ressie? Do we stay the 15th on a seperate one night ressie and then start our FD ressie on the 16th?

Question #2 We are staying from the 15th to the 22 or most likely the 23rd (DD starts school on the 24th  Way to squeeze in a vacation at the last minute!;))Since we most likely won't be going to the parks on our travel days but we can purchase those days park ticket for a few bucks more...can we use those extra 2 days as a "just in case" park hoppers? When I called to make a deposit CM told us that the hoppers are an extra $200 and I really don't think we'd use them...We've always gotten them but really only hopped a few times on each trip.

What do you think?

Thanks ya'll!

Hi there - You won't be able to use the extra 2 days as park hoppers - it won't let you use more than one day of your multi day ticket on any one single day (it will show a message on your ticket media saying not valid for multip park use) - You don't get multiple tickets - rather one ticket for the whole time and it reads if you do or don't have park hoppers.

I believe you have to book two seperate ressies for your stay the first night before free dining. I have two ressies - Our first is for 8/7-8/16 and then the second one is 8/16-8/25 for this exact reason. The great thing about arriving the day before - we do this too, is that you will get the most of your FD ressie because you will be there first thing that day.

Hi! I'm in Houston and I feel your pain about the last minute trip before school starts lol. This is my first trip so I'm sure there are other more qualified people to answer this, but as far as the first question, I would get a room at a small hotel for around $40-$50, then go to your regular Disney hotel the next day. For the second question, I believe I saw somewhere that you can't do that. I was not planning on going on our travel days either, but after changing resorts, it only made sense to add on 2 more days of passes for the few dollars extra. Depending on what time your flight is, if it's late you could probably do the morning at a park that you still had stuff to do at.

Do you think that the economy may be bringing smaller crowds and that is the delay?

I really wonder if the Touring Plans is going to be accurate...I mean how do they know what day is going to be busy when the times and EMH's aren't even posted? I wonder if they will readjust the numbers they have posted.

Yep - once you realize you really want hoppers you can then go to guest services and add them for $50 per person. Why pay ahead of time, if you aren't sure.

We are not hopper people and it's not bad. We don't do afternoon breaks either. We don't do EMH's either, lol.
We pretty much go at regular park opening 9am and then stay all day in one park and then after dinner or later sometimes go back to our hotel to get a good nights sleep. We do have a long time there though, so if we were going for a shorter period of time I might have a different plan of attack.

Hey there neighbor, neighbor and neighbor!!!

Melanie - we're there at exactly the same time! I know our ADR day is May 18th, and I NEED these hours. How annoying is this?!?!?!

Hey - another neighbor. Wow so many of us down there in August. I think my ADR window opens up Wednesday or Thursday. We actually have another reservation without dining arriving on 8/7. I actually think because I have two ressies I have to make my dining ressies for the first 9 nights and then I have to wait till the window opens for the second 9 nights.

We use the Magical Express so for us it's easier to just stay on Disney property. We are in North Houston close to Bush Intl. We try to leave on an early flight and come home on a late flight. This time however we may stay until that Sunday and take an early flight so that we can come home and have a 1/2 day to unpack before school starts!:lmao: I told DH that we have to have everything ready for school before we leave! Clothes set out into pre-made outfits ( a weeks worth) for every member of the house, Backpack packed, every detail done and ready! That way I can relax while I'm there and not think about everything I need to do when we get home! Whew! I don't know what is going to be more crazy...getting ready for the trip or school!!!

Yeah, and you can even add them at the park if you needed them. I am just such a micro-manager that if I got to a park and it was crazy, there's just no way I would change my plan and go somewhere else! So the only way I would consider it is if I really can't get ADR's. However, I think then I'd just play with my park days instead. The only "must" in park ADR I want is Le Cellier, so I'll move Epcot if I have to. My other "musts" - 'Ohana, WCC aren't as critical, and the ones I'm planning on in parks - Tusker House, CP, Garden Grill I'm pretty flexible on times/meals and I don't think are as hard to get.

Guess we'll see.

haha this soooo sounds like me...but we are going to disney aug 8-16, and then I move into college for the first time that thursday!! so ontop of packing my whole life for college and buying all the stuff i need for college, i have to pack for vacation!!! lol i will pack most of my stuff when i get back from disney, but what stinks is that we will be trying to save money for vacation, and also having to buy things for me for college. then when we get back, we will be broke from spending all our money at disney, then STILL trying to buy things for school AND buying groceries since our house will be empty!! ahhh this is going to be the craziest august ever!!!!!!:rotfl2:

:rolleyes1 Glad I start up again in September and I planned my vacation around when we start school. (I also planned it because I thought I was going to be an Orientation leader for the incoming freshman, but that didn't happen... which worked out for the best, because now I have free dining for longer!)

Congratulations on starting college though, it's loads better than high school! :dance3:

well this will be my third year of college, i did my first two at home at community college. so its basically like i did HS for 6 years but the two years at community college there was no social interaction! haha i am sooooooo ready for away college!!! lol

I'm super annoyed (not like I matter lol) but my trip is spanning a July/August, so I made my ADRS for my trip a week ago, and I still don't know whether the last 4 days can stay the same or not! GRRR

Question 1: THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE DOING! We have a room only for the 15th. And our FD package is the 16th-22nd. We did this due to the price of air fare. We could fly in and out on Saturdays for $79 one way but if we flew on Sunday the fair jumped to $136!:scared1: We land at 10:55 and are heading to Beaches and Cream for lunch and walking the Boardwalk and then heading back to POP to enjoy the pool and relax and get ready for the parks starting Sunday! We don't fly out till 8:40 so we will have 1/2 day to finish up and ride our favorites one last time.

Question 2: This is a good idea. Just make sure if you are a Fantasmic fan, make sure you check the schedule for Fantasmic and plan your day at DHS for one of those days since they only show it 2-3 days a week now.

Have fun! Can WAIT!

Okay, add me to the club of aggravated there's no hours posted yet!
Only things I want to find out really is if there is an evening EMH at Hollywood Studios during our trip, park hours for that park on another day also, and spectro/Wishes times.

Okay, I can't take the waiting anymore! :scared1: I have been checking, like all of you, since Friday. My day for ADR's in Saturday and I have something going on every night this week. I have a tentative schedule planned based on july hours, but I can't figure out the Fantasmic pattern.

:rotfl:I think I need a vacation from my vaction planning. This is way too stressful! DH is ready to have me committed!

Off to bed, after all tomorrow is another day...of waiting!

:surfweb: => me GLUED to my computer.....thanks DISNEY...I would like to move on in life but nooooo...stuck here waiting, and waiting, and :rotfl:

I have tried all %$# day to stay away from the computer to stop from checking on the park hours but its so frustrating not to have them up yet.. I just need to know when EMH's are so i can figure out what days to plan and then i can make my adrs on the 25th of May... I sure hope they are up by then.... I have never been upset with disney but when you make a rule that they have a 90 day rule for booking ADR's and then not post hours to coinside with hours and dinning plans it makes it very hard. I undertsand with the economy the way it is that they have had to make alot of changes but come on already this is getting really old
