Waiting for August Hours - All hours are up!!

I spoke to a CM and was told Aug hours wouldnt be out for at least another 2 weeks. I am hoping she was wrong.

I was just reading on another site that a guest phoned up about the August hours and the CM told them it would be at least another 2 weeks before they were out . Now, I know we can take what CM's on the phone tell us with a pinch of salt, but why would the CM say it will be at least 2 weeks? The reason they gave was because a lot of guests find it hard to plan that far in advance. That so does not make sense! Personally, I am hopeful for tomorrow some time. But at this rate I will probably be wrong!

and pleasantly told the CM how aggravated I was that the August park hours announcement does not coincide with the ADR window, and he totally agreed with me and told me to write to guest relations at:

wdw dot guest dot communications at disneyworld dot com

and tell them how inconvenient this has been.

There are still no August park hours and today is exactly 90 days. I did make some ADRs so we don't risk my kids missing their favorites, but I will probably reschedule some of them when EMH hours come out. This means I wasted MY time and the Disney employee's time as well!

I am BEYOND aggravated at this! When I went in 2006, I made ADRs in February for a late July trip, and I know hours were already posted by then because TGM had already made up their recommended parks list and I chose my park days, and ADRs based on that.

THANKS for posting...:thumbsup2..I DID drop them a note.
Perhaps if MANY people dropped them a note, SOMEONE at DISNEY would realize that the system is NOT WORKING and POTENTIAL guests are getting frustrated which is NO way to plan a DISNEY VACATION!

START writing in everyone, many people together DO make CHANGES happen!!

***I called about 20 minutes ago and was told that YES< they have received other calls and NO they have NO IDEA when but to "keep trying back" UGH!

I know we're all aggrevated, but I doubt that there isn't some reason why they're taking so long. It's not the CM on the phone's fault, it's someone in a semi-corporate spot, most likely. There must be some reason why they're taking a while - I think we take it for granted that they should come out 90 days ahead of time, because we plan like this when a lot of people don't.

Yes, frankly, I am a little perturbed as well, and granted I don't have to make ADRs for another few weeks, but I know that I have planned enough and looked at enough different times, etc, to make fairly certain guesses of when to eat and such, hours or not.

Just my two cents - I understand other people's frustration, but the best we can do is email Disney and see if we can find out any more information, instead of taking it out on the phone CMs and each other.

Add me to the emailing club... I sent a very calm, logical, polite email. Let's hope for some pixie dust soon! pixiedust:

I also just sent my letter, lets hope this works!! come on everyone the more letters they get the more of an impact it will make!

I know there's a lot of jokes about it, but I think Disney is dead wrong for not posting them to coincide with when ADR's can be made. And this coming from someone who can't make his ADR's for another week. It's unfair for those who could be making their ADR's now. For certain meals, ADR's must be made 90 days out, or forget it. Especially during early August when the parks are packed.

If they're going to be so strict about ADR's being 90 days out, then there is absolutely no excuse why they shouldn't have the hours posted for that time yet for the public. I would be beyond irritated if it were affecting my plans.

I gotta agree. I am supposed to make my ADRs this week. I had planned to finalize my vacation schedule this weekend...didn't happen.

You can bet they are going to have some people double booking and then (HOPEFULLY) cancelling if WDW can't get their park hours published timely. I feel sorry for the folks who had to try and book ADRs today by guessing. Just my 2 cents...

shamefully bumping to keep the email address here in hopes that MORE guests will EMAIL DISNEY!! :thumbsup2

Disney should be ashamed of themselves!!! :scared1: Poor Walt must be spinning in his grave (with frustrstion) at the way guests are being treated!!! :sad1: a sad, sad state of affairs. :sad2:

I'm am really surprised that the August hours have not been posted. Given the current state of the economy, and the overall downturn in the tourism industry, you would think Disney would be moving heaven and earth to make sure those hours were posted in a timely manner.

Now we all understand that sometimes "stuff happens"...but Disney could go a long way to alleviate some of this frustration by simply posting a notice on their website which states: a) Why the August hours have been delayed b)When the August hours will be posted c) Apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this delay.

Simple rule in Business, do not let customer's frustrations grow due to inaction or an overall failure to communicate.

Hi forum newbie here who is also awaiting the august hours. But the chaotic economy is probably the reason why the hours are taking so long, or it could just be the fact that I am waiting a long with you.

They are probably collecting all the data they can to create a good trend line in an attempt to predict park attendance. Not being able to rely on a continuing trend from previous years, they are instead looking at indicators from more recent months.

But do the ADR really go that fast? I have probably spent 1 year of my childhood in Dinsey and the only restaurant I ever recall having issues with was the California Grill.

I think you're giving them far too much credit.

I think you are seeing the product of staff cuts. Posting park hours is probably considered by WDW as a non-essential item. In better times, according to Robo, park hours were posted at 2am and on weekends. That's when they had the staff available to do those things. Now, if it didn't get done by quittin' time on Friday (92 days before August 1), then it just has to wait until Monday . . . if it even gets done then.

Posting park hours in advance is a customer service, and customer service is often the first casualty of corporate budget cuts.

:welcome: Galls! I agree with you. I'm frustrated as well but I remember people saying that they could add things on the fly like they did that crazy week before Easter so it shouldn't be too crazy to start with something. I am sure they are monitoring how well the free dining is selling and evaluating things or maybe somebody was on vacation! :goodvibes

Yes they do, some anyway. I am feeling sorry for those who want Cinderella Breakfast in the castle. For our first trip, I practice three times before my booking day to get it and still didn't get it the first day that I wanted. I did get it the second day. If you aren't ready to call first thing with the exact dates and times, you may miss out on that completely. Other restaurants that we have had trouble getting the dates and times we wanted are Le Cellier at Epcot, Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge, O'hana at Poly and Mickey's Hoop Dee Do Revue.

Point Taken...

So my reservations are for 5 nights, that means at 90 days from the first check in date I can call and make reservations for the entire trip?

Bingo...

Nonetheless, Disney has built quite a reputation in regards to customer service I certainly expected this situation to be handled better.
