wait, what? it's another trip to disney! Sept 2014 FINAL UPDATE 1-28

Hi Lori!

I know that I read and commented on your prior getting-there updates, but apparently I didn’t???? I am so sorry - I was absolutely certain that I had. :(

So, anyway, it looks like you and the girls had a very smooth trip down to Florida together - how great! I mean, a nap even! WOW!

Disney bus selfies are the best! :woohoo:

Your window decorations look great. Very Halloween-y. And SCARY!

Oh, the travel disaster sounds so stressful. I knew you were in trouble as soon as I heard that the CM told you that you could get a bus to BC at Epcot, but only because we have stayed at Epcot resorts twice. Yikes!!!! I’m so glad that they got you in at B&C and that you had a great dinner together. :goodvibes:

Ugh - the charging issues sound awful. Similar thing happened to us on our first night last trip at the Yachtsman Steakhouse - this was pre-MB, but they hadn’t tied my CC to our room key (on-line check-in for us too).

Wow! What an early morning!!! And, am I crazy, or wouldn’t 5:40 in Florida be 4:40 at home for you? (We are 3 hours behind, so I’m guessing you are one hour behind.) If so, you three are GOOD!!!

Oh-oh-oh-oh!!!!! Look how cute the girls are with their cupcake shirts!!!! YAY!!!! You did great with the rest of the outfits - they look adorable!!! I can’t even tell you how thrilled I am that y’all liked them so much. It is THRILLING to see them on your girls at WDW!!!!

The welcome show - isn’t it great??? We missed it last trip (were in the park before opening). I love that Anna and Elsa have joined the crew!

Great PP pics!! (Or is it MM?)

Sounds like y’all had a great Ariel interaction - that’s awesome!

real life was consuming our time this week. we had trunk or treat at Hannah's school last night and I spent most of the week making costumes and buying candy to pass out. thought i'd share a few pictures!

the girls were very excited to put on makeup and finally get to wear their costumes! Hannah was rainbow dash from my little ponies

Madison was a peacock

I don't know what the deal is with the silly faces and crazy poses. honestly, they hadn't had any sugar....yet!

our not so scary trunk decorations. we thought it sort of looked like a monster face if you stepped back and squinted at it. :rotfl:

there was a lot of running around, candy, playing and fun. it was a good night and they were both asleep by the time we got home!

I am going over to pintrest today to see what i can download.. :thumbsup2

SEE I did fix the non notification thingy!!!

did you find the bats? here's a link if you need it

Oh my, totally LOL at you describing the not so yummy smell at the Beach Club.

I'd be extremely frustrated with the CM at POP giving the bad directions. I get super stressed out being late, especially since it was out of your control. I am glad they were able to get you in and you enjoyed the food. The Mickey sundaes are the cutest!

Wow your girls were troopers in that long haul back to the room.

Love the early morning photos with the pumpkins!

Those shirts are so adorable!

So neat that you got to enjoy the opening show and that you enjoyed it so much. I hope we make it to the opening show on our trip.

Awe, those PP pics were so sweet of you all.

Maddie looks star struck meeting Ariel, so precious!

oh, that smell.....it was NOT magical!

we LOVE those cupcake shirts! they're awesome!

the opening show was so great! I don't know if we'll make it again, but it was wonderful to see!

she was pretty excited to see ariel!!

I am soooooooooooo far behind!!!! I am sure I already forgot half the stuff I wanted to comment on!

First off, your kids are just too cute for words! LOVE the cupcake shirts- you are right, they are beyond adorable in them! The look of pure joy on your kids faces is also so very awesome! That is the magic that keeps bringing us back....... I :lovestruc it!!!!

Glad you had no issues with the flights. Always a great start to a trip!

The bus situation sounds yucky. But then I am not a huge fan of the busses for reasons like that.

Beach Club- I stayed there last year for Wine & Dine. I know EXACTLY that mixed smell of Beach Club & Seafood and I agree.. it is YUCK (but I HATE seafood!).

Your food at Beaches and Cream looks SOOOOO good! Wish I could go out and eat for lunch today!

First day at MK- AWESOME so far!!!!

I promise to stay more up to date. :) So I can reply more appropriately.

no worries....clearly you haven't missed much since i'm dragging my feet on posting stuff!

aww, thanks...I thought they were looking particularly adorable that morning. ;)

that smell was horrible!! we aren't sea food people either, and it was just not what I was expecting when we walked in. not what I had been imaging....

I'm here!!!!! Better late than never, right?!??

Lol! I seriously cannot believe I didn't notice you'd started it!!!

Okay so, great start! The girls were adorable at the airport and on the plane!

Bummer on the pain in the butt travel to B&C! Really stinks, but glad it all worked out anyway!

I STILL am so so so proud of you getting to Rope Drop!!

Love the M&G with Ariel! So cute! And SCORE on getting 2 rides in a row on LM! Woot! woot!

Also, lived hearing all about the birthday party! Wish I could have been there!!

Alright, I'm subbed, caught up, and ready for more!

yeah, it's fine, terri. not like I was getting a complex from you ignoring me or anything. just kidding! :lmao: i'm glad you're here, of course!

I still can't believe we made it to rope drop either! something magical must have been in the air!

Joining In!

I'm so glad I am not the only one who is crazy enough to plan a party days after a vacation! :lmao: I did that too! Only for me it was DH's bday party and it was 2 days after we got back.

How annoying that the Pop cm gave you the wrong directions. Next time you head to one of those resorts take a bus to HS and a boat to beach club. Maybe she meant to say anything BUT Epcot or Animal Kingdom?:confused3 Because those are the two worst choices.

How wonderful to start the trip out with the Welcome show. I have yet to see it myself and I'll probably cry as well.

:welcome: i'm always so happy to have new people join in!

a party 2 days after you got back? you might be more crazy then I am! :rotfl:

I don't know what happened with those directions. it was the worst travel experience I've had at Disney, but at least we still got there!

I hope you get to see the welcome show! it was amazing! take a tissue!

I thought you commented somewhere, too, so it's all good!

you're right--5:40 in disney IS 4:40 here. I was obviously so tired I couldn't even figure out the correct time! :rotfl2:

the shirts were so perfect! just wait until you see how excited peter pan was to see it!

Hi Lori  I've just joined in with your TR, loving it so far!! Hannah and Maddie are so adorable. We were actually at WDW at the same time as you, and at Beaches and Cream 2 days before you!

I loved the window decorating - spreading your own magic pixiedust:

And don't get me started on the MK Welcome show.. It makes me cry too!! I posted about it in my TR recently, even thinking about it makes me emotional :rotfl:

Hope you had a great trip and I can't wait to hear more :goodvibes

so, if anyone remembers, rich was supposed to be getting on a plane very early this morning and coming down to meet up with us, hopefully around noon. before we'd even left POP, i got a text from him. it said "i missed my flight" i did not think that was funny and was sure he was joking, so i replied "no, you didn't" and got back "i'm not kidding. i'm rebooked to leave at " whatever time it was. yep, it was our anniversary and he was going to miss pretty much the whole day because he missed his flight. i was annoyed, mad, wanted to complain and yell, upset that i was spending my anniversary alone and wearing a mrs shirt without my mr.......but, i guess because i was in disney, i just decided to act like a grown up. it was what it was and i couldn't change it, so why let it ruin my day. i got texts randomly throughout the day with rich's travel progress. i'll let you know when he finally catches up with us (fyi--he had to fly from st louis to chicago, spend a short layover and then get to orlando, get the bus to POP, change buses and find us at MK. yeah.....it's wasn't going to be anytime soon....)

so when you're searching for breakfast in new fantasyland, where else would you go except to gaston's?

and what else would you get besides a giant cinnamon roll and lefou's brew?

don't worry.....even though we were at disney, i still made the girls eat some fruit and drink some milk. maddie wouldn't even try lefou's brew, i found it too sweet with the cinnamon roll, and hannah said she liked it, but didn't have much of it. i don't think it was a winner for any of us....

while maddie finished up, hannah enjoyed looking around at gaston's chair and fireplace. did anyone besides eagle eye hannah see the key up in the antlers? the girls were sure that they were gaston's car keys. :rotfl:

when maddie finally finished up her apples and cinnamon roll, we cleaned up our table and headed out. i really wanted to meet gaston while we were in the area, but it was very early and he didn't start meets until 10. i wasn't wasting all this extra rope drop time waiting around! i made a note to try to come back later. we headed up past BOG and the girls NEEDED to go ride the carousel, so we hopped in line and got right on.

i'm not sure why the girls love carousels so much, but they do. before our turn was even over, they wanted to know if we could go again, but there was actually a line when we were done so i convinced them we could come back later. moving on!!

we were walking over to the tea cups and passed winnie the pooh. there was barely anyone there, so we decided to do that. the girls played in the little house for a bit and we actually had time to enjoy the fun things in line this time!

by the time we were getting to the honey walls, there seemed to be a rush at winnie the pooh. i was pretty happy we'd gotten there when we had because i don't think we would have stopped if we'd gotten there during that crowd. soon enough we were in our honey pot. i totally forgot to take any pictures. i was having a lot of fun just watching the girls giggle and point out things. it's sort of nice to just be in the moment, but doesn't make for an interesting TR.....sorry!

after our trip through pooh's forest, we looked around the gift shop for a second. hannah tried on a hat before i could stop her and i had a slight panic attack about lice. nothing yet, so i think we're all good! whew! we didn't stay in the gift shop long because a) then the girls want to buy all the things and b) i was so excited to get to our next stop and favorite ride! if you know us, you know we were headed to.....

THE TEA CUPS!!!!! why do we love spinning around as fast as we can manage on those things? i have no idea but i'd ride it all day if they'd let me! the wait time said 5 minutes, but we all know that means no wait! the ride was just ending as we got there and we hopped right into a cup. not sure what hannah is doing in this picture, but since it's the only one of her on the tea cups that isn't blurry, i'm posting it.

since daddy, who is usually our offical tea cup spinner, wasn't with us, hannah tried her hand at spinning.

she did a pretty good job!

have i mentioned we love the tea cups?

we got off, ran around and got right back on. it was awesome!

we thought about going one more time, but decided to move on since there was a line this time. we were headed over to storybook circus to meet some friends, but got distracted on the way. there was no line at dumbo, so we decided to stop.

we walked right in (kept the girls moving and bypassed the play area. i know it's cute, but i'd rather ride!) and were waiting for the ride to finish so we could hop on. got a pic of our fabulous footwear......thanks, ms. terri!

no, it isn't raining yet--my hair is looking so gorgeous from all the humidity. don't be jealous!

it's almost our turn! isn't it so pretty? i just realized that we STILL didn't ride this at night when it's all lit up and so amazing. add it to the reasons to go back to disney!

we're in our elephant! we decided that the girls are big enough that we're going to need to split up from now on. we were a little squished!

nice view from up in the air! the girls had a lot of fun "driving" and our ride was over too soon.....

just love this little reminder on the way out

we checked the wait times and there were only 10 minute waits for some friends, so we hurried to over get some autographs!

Oh no! That stinks that he missed his flight. I am impressed with how you handled it.
Abi loved carousels too but Maddy is scared of them. No idea.
Besides the unexpected stress it sounds like a good morning so far.

we've never been in pete's sideshow before, but we were excited to meet some characters! goofy and donald had a shorter line and hannah was about to jump out of her skin if she didn't see goofy soon, so that's the side we chose first. the wait said 10 minutes, but the line seemed a little longer then that. the characters were really awesome about spending time with each family and taking as many pictures as they wanted and signing things. it was so worth the wait.

first up was goofy. maddie was a little nervous, but hannah was all about meeting her favorite character! he came over to give madison a hug

and then came to take hannah by the hand. that's when the photographer pointed out that hannah had goofy on her shirt. goofy couldn't have been more excited! he twirled hannah around and they danced a little.

she told him that he was her favorite and he started drawing hearts in the air and hugging her. she was loving it! i'm surprised i could get her to leave.

luckily, up next was donald.....hannah's other favorite! he was not too thrilled with hannah's goofy shirt....

she let him know that he was her favorite too and showed him the donald on her shoe. he was pretty impressed with that and hugs were given!

maddie was finally ready to get in on some picture taking action

when we were done, we hurried through the gift shop and got into line for minnie and daisy. they should really just make a way to get into that line from inside, but whatever. of course, when we got into line, daisy and minnie had to take a bathroom break, or get a snack or something. whatever they were doing, we had to wait for them to come back. when they did, the line seemed to move pretty quickly.

we saw daisy first. i have to admit, we've only seen daisy at tusker house, i think, and we've never been too excited about getting to her meets. she's very cute in her fortune teller outfit, but we didn't spend much time with her.

the girls were much more excited about seeing minnie! i think it was all the pink and sparkles. minnie did let maddie know that she LOVED her minnie ears!

after our meets, we cruised through the gift shop again. i could tell we were all losing our cool and probably needed a snack. we decided to hop the train and ride around. we got off at frontierland and walked through to a little kiosk for food. i think we ended up using some dining credits and got a hot dog, chips, cookie and a couple drinks. i know all my pictures look grey, but it was VERY humid and HOT this morning.

so, where were we headed? well, we had a very important character meet we could NOT miss!

Hi Lori  I've just joined in with your TR, loving it so far!! Hannah and Maddie are so adorable. We were actually at WDW at the same time as you, and at Beaches and Cream 2 days before you!

hi and :welcome: I can't believe we were at Disney at the same time! i'm going to go check out your TR!

thanks for the compliments on the girls. they are pretty cute......and use it to their advantage! kids! :lmao:

I don't know what the deal is with that welcome show! they know just how to bring a tear to your eye, don't they?

Oh no! That stinks that he missed his flight. I am impressed with how you handled it.
Abi loved carousels too but Maddy is scared of them. No idea.
Besides the unexpected stress it sounds like a good morning so far.

thanks....i'm sure I muttered a few unkind words and an "un-be-LIEVE-able" or two before I pulled it together. he always complains when i'm rushing everyone out the door to things, especially to the airport hours early, I guess now he knows why I get all crazy!

what is the draw of the carousel? I just do not understand it.

good job with the costumes! my daughter would be very excited to be Rainbow Dash .... though, instead she will just be one of the other thousands of Elsa's out there this Halloween

HOW did he manage to miss his flight? Ugh! What a man thing to do!

But looks like you've had a great day so far!!

Oh man he missed his flight and it was your anniversary :sad2:

I have to say I love Maddie's face on the tea cups that is exactly how my little one looks to!

I know what you mean by a squished Dumbo, my last trip and me the girls had to go in 1 because Faith was not old enough yet to ride by herself. Lets just say even with how much we love that ride we were very ready to get off :crowded:

By the way the girls costumes are great! My older daughter Faith would love the Rainbow dash costume!

Can't believe he missed his flight! I mean, things happen and I *hope* he had a good excuse, but still - doesn't make your day any easier/better

The queue for Pooh is really cute. I like that it isn't too over the top or anything just a lot of little things to keep kids occupied for a bit

Those are some really fun pictures spinning in the tea cups - glad you had such a good time.

Dumbo is so great - I do love it at night too so hopefully you do get there some day/night :goodvibes

Looks like some fun meet and greets - especially with Goofy! That was some smart planning with having Donald on her shoes too!

You handled the news of the missed flight well. I think I would be quite mad myself if DH pulled something like that on our anniversary. Glad you were able to prevent it from ruining your day.

DH loves the tea cups as well and I am sure that he and DD will be like you and enjoy the super spinning tea cups. Me on the other hand....:crazy2: Not so much. Nice and gentle is the only way I can handle it.

Your DD is so sweet with Goofy! What wonderful pictures you got out of that meet and greet!

Oof, so sorry to hear DH missed his flight, that's never cool but especially on a special occasion. I'd say you handled it like a lady. Plus. It looks like despite that disappointing news you girls had a great morning in MK!

Ok. I thought for sure that I had commented after beaches and cream, but it seems that I did NOT!!!!! hehehe

well, that whole thing seemed like such a fiasco. Sorry about the bad directions. we had a similar bus problem when leaving Fort Wilderness from HDDR. At least they got you in for your yummy desserts!!!!!!

Awwwwwww, glad you made it to rope drop. We never did see the show. The only day I could drag everyone out of bed we were in prior to the show for breakfast...... I think a lot of people cry a little when they see the show. The magic of disney!!!!! ;)

Love those shirts! I remember seeing them on Roni's TR and thought they were adorable......

I saw the costumes on facebook, but they looked really great with their makeup and all! Evalyn saw the pony costume on the computer and LOVED it......she said "Mom, can I have that costume?!?!?!) ummmmmm, no baby, mommy doesn't sew!!!!! hahahahahahahaha

What, he missed his flight! Arrrrrrrgh, I would have been livid!! Very adult of you to just move on. hehe

We had a cinnamon roll too. Even with all four of us eating it, it was too much! It's definitely one of those things that daddy needs to be around to finish it off!!!! ;)

Sooooooooooooooooo, I would like to say, hope to meet you next time!!!!!! Maybe fall of 2016? ;):rotfl:

Ahh, the hat try on. I feel your pain. I think I've yelled at my kids enough in a panic induced state when they are near a hat to know never to put one on their heads!

I love those sweet teacup pictures. Nothing says Disney like castle pics, dumbo pics & teacup pics. You've hit all three! I'd say an EXCELLENT morning so far!!!!

And that stinks about the hubby & missing the flight :(

I didn't care for the LeFrou's Brew. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't fantastic....like say.... Butterbeer. :)

Great updates & cute Halloween costumes!

Grrr... I would be so upset if DH missed his flight - on our anniversary no less... So, kudos to you for enjoying your day anyways... I think I would do the same, after the initial annoyance. :) It is Disney after all.

We tried Lefrou's brew on our last trip - I am with you, I don't think I could do it with a cinnamon roll too... Way too much sweetness.

Loved the girls' outfits and shoes this day! They are both adorable.

Love the tea cups - but I can't do them... I get so motion sick! Even though, I did do them this last trip - just to settle V's temper a little bit - I had to keep my eyes squished closed the entire time... Man, I regretted that for hours... But you'll read about that in my TR, when I get that far.

So sweet that Goofy loved dd so much... We've always had GREAT interactions with Goofy - he is V's ultimate favorite.

Dumbo is amazing at night - highly recommend and WORTH another trip to WDW. IMO. :thumbsup2

D~

Add me to the group of people who are not crazy about LaFous Brew too...

I still am bummed you were missing Rich most the day, but you did make the best of it, and what a sweet sweet time with your beautiful girls!

Oh my gosh, the TEACUPSSS!!! I am not big on them, because I don't care for spinning anymore, lol, but my word it is basically impossible for your kids not to light up, laugh, and smile as big as their faces will let them on those things, so I ride it EVERY TIME! I just worry for the day when they actually have the strength to spin it!! LOL!!! Gosh, that Maddie is soooo cute with her big ole smile on there!!! And glad Hannah could take over as the spinner for the day!

You really did accomplish a lot this morning! I am so PROUD!!! Maybe next time you can even get Rich in on the rope drop fun, at least one day a trip would be good! :thumbsup2

I took the same photo of the "believe & soar" such a nice reminder!!!

SQUEEEEEE! How exciting that Hannah got to do her meet with Goofy and Donald!! This makes twice now Donald has seen my handy work on shoes and liked it! I'm totally fan-girling over it! :hyper: :lovestruc

I am trying to think where you could be headed next?? My guess is a princess!? Or maybe Mickey?! I really can't remember so the guessing game is fun!!!

Now, about this costume making business....

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I LOOOOOOVE THEM!!! You are so talented, my friend!! Seriously! That rainbow dash is adorable, and so much cooler than an off the rack version. And that is an ADORABLE peacock! Love the tutu and the headpiece is so beautiful!! I know they love them too and had an awesome time trunk-or-treating!!!

good job with the costumes! my daughter would be very excited to be Rainbow Dash .... though, instead she will just be one of the other thousands of Elsa's out there this Halloween

we saw LOTS of anna and elsa's at trunk or treat. she'll be in good company! ;)

HOW did he manage to miss his flight? Ugh! What a man thing to do!

But looks like you've had a great day so far!!

ah, that's my husband for ya! he was running late and then, when he got in the airport, sat down for a few minutes. when he finally went up to the desk to ask when the plane would board, they told him the plane was already heading out to the runway and why hadn't he answered the page for him? which he'd never even heard. now I guess he'll understand next time I make us leave for the airport three hours early! :rotfl:

Oh man he missed his flight and it was your anniversary

I have to say I love Maddie's face on the tea cups that is exactly how my little one looks to!

I know what you mean by a squished Dumbo, my last trip and me the girls had to go in 1 because Faith was not old enough yet to ride by herself. Lets just say even with how much we love that ride we were very ready to get off :crowded:

By the way the girls costumes are great! My older daughter Faith would love the Rainbow dash costume!

yeah--I felt sort of silly wearing my awesome anniversary shirt without my husband!

I love how excited they both get on the tea cups! it's just the best ride ever!

I've never realized how small the elephants are on that ride....but you're right! :crowded:

thanks! the tutu was easy--I've made several of them. the rainbow dash was a pattern I sort of followed that I found on pinterest. it's supposed to have a hoodie for the top, but I didn't feel like fooling around with a zipper, so I bought that shirt instead. we'll call it "took a short cut" (aka cheated! ).

Can't believe he missed his flight! I mean, things happen and I *hope* he had a good excuse, but still - doesn't make your day any easier/better

The queue for Pooh is really cute. I like that it isn't too over the top or anything just a lot of little things to keep kids occupied for a bit

my DH--I love him, but he drives me crazy sometimes (he can say the same, i'm sure)!

we just love those tea cups! I still have the video from it from our first trip with the girls on my phone and watch it regularly.

I can't believe we missed dumbo at night! it's on the list for next time!

our meets with Donald and goofy were so great! they were a lot of fun.

You handled the news of the missed flight well. I think I would be quite mad myself if DH pulled something like that on our anniversary. Glad you were able to prevent it from ruining your day.

Your DD is so sweet with Goofy! What wonderful pictures you got out of that meet and greet!

thanks--I did spend a few minutes thinking not so nice thoughts, and mumbling under my breath.....then I had to "let it go"! ;)

yeah, we love to spin those cups! my mom, who has come to Disney with rich and I before we had kids, can't even watch us spin them or she gets sick.

i'm surprised she even left from Goofy without me having to drag her off him. she just loves him SO much!

Oof, so sorry to hear DH missed his flight, that's never cool but especially on a special occasion. I'd say you handled it like a lady. Plus. It looks like decpite that diss anointing news you girls had a great morning in MK!

we did have a good time, even without daddy. I won't say I didn't think some unkind thoughts, but when things started happening so magically for us that morning, I pushed it to the back of my mind and enjoyed the pixie dust!

Sooooooooooooooooo, I would like to say, hope to meet you next time!!!!!! Maybe fall of 2016? ;):rotfl:

those buses--it was the probably the first time at Disney that I've wished for a car!

oh, maybe we should make some pony accessories for Evalyn! she probably needs a mane and ears and a tail at least, right? tell her to let me know who her favorite pony is!

i'm so glad I've convinced everyone I'm so grownup! I had some very unmagical thoughts, I admit, but something just took over and I wasn't so worried about it. gotta love the Disney magic just floating around down there! now if that happened at home......whole other story! :lmao:

i'm still bummed we didn't meet up too, but FALL 2016! it's a plan!!!!

Butterbeer.

Great updates & cute Halloween costumes!

your kids are awesome! mine still just plunk a hat on their heads willy-nilly, not even one from the back that maybe no one else has tried on yet! I think they're trying to kill me sometimes.....

tea cup pictures are classic, aren't they? i'll probably be making us squish into a tea cup together when they're married with kids for another picture!

IMO. :thumbsup2

D~

yep, now maybe he'll understand my craziness when i'm trying to rush us out the door to the airport 3 hours early (and we live about 10 minutes from the airport). there's a method to my madness, people! :rotfl2:

Hannah fell in love with goofy on her first trip and just adores him! he's always such a great meet. he was so cute with her, dancing and drawing hearts in the air. I just love how it makes her smile! magic!

I totally agree--must book another Disney trip just to ride dumbo at night!

I know--I was excited to try the brew and then it was not what I had expected at all.

Hannah was having a blast spinning us on those tea cups! I'll go on with Olivia and maddie whenever you need me to! :thumbsup2

goofy and Donald were both so excited about their shoes! it was so fun for her to show them her shoes! thanks for adding to the fun with your amazing talent! it was awesome!

awww, thanks! I had fun making the girls costumes for sure! I also have some ears cut out for some girls I know in texas...... ;)
