Wait - We're staying Where? and When????

Oh Boy everyone is on the Disney diet aren't they???

that means more support.. i guess... :crazy2: i hate dieting.

i wonder how many others there will be at Disney during OUR time??

Oh Tess, I am the worst Dis friend ever! I lost the subscription to your ptr long ago and with all that's been going on with me and my sporadic internet time, I forgot to check or notice that you have a new ptr!! So, I'm here, finally. I read your tr from September and loved the shirts and bags and costumes. You have quite a talent!::yes::

Of course I can't remember all I wanted to respond to, but I did enjoy getting caught up. My youngest DD lived in Maryland for a few years. As a thank you for everyone who helped her and her roommate move into their place, they did the blue crab thing with the newspapers and mallets etc. It was a hoot! They got such of kick out of me getting grossed out when I ventured where I shouldn't have with the crab. :faint:

I liked the line up of ADRs you've got so far. For Hollywood Studios we like 50s Prime Time really well, but we tend to leave the park for a resort restaurant since nothing in HS really stands out. Also, if you are looking for a wonderful place that is fairly quiet and the food is really good, try the Grand Floridian Cafe. We've eaten there twice and both times had excellent service and food.

Congratulations on the DVC purchase!!!:cool1: That will give you a lot of flexibility for future visits. As far as going to Home and Garden, we went in April of 2012 with our 5 year old Granddaughter and had a blast. The butterfly house was a favorite of hers, but the topiaries and flowers are what caught my eye. Stunning color bursting everywhere! You'll get lots of great photos I'm sure.

We've eaten at Raglan Road a couple of times and it is fantastic. The atmosphere as well as the food. We enjoyed Garden Grill, but the characters came around so often we had a hard time getting our meal eaten. It was fun, though, when Dale and Pluto were fighting over me.:lovestruc

You have been so faithful to keep Jennifer in your prayers and I really appreciate that. I have been praying for you and your family daily as well. I hope 2014 shapes up to be a wonderful year for you and your family! Now that I've found your report, I'll be back! Have a great day!:goodvibes

Oh, almost forgot! Dan surprised me last year and a trip that was supposed to be cancelled wasn't and we ended up going!! No time to plan DIS meets, but now I see we were at MK on the same day and I think HS too. Wish I'd known!

Oh Lois, with everything you've had going on, you couldn't possibly be a bad dis friend. Glad you are here now!

Since I grew up in Maryland, eating crabs is second nature to me - and I made sure all my kids learned to pick them at a very early age. They are very messy though.

I am keeping Jennifer in my prayers. Having faith and a good attitude are essential to the healing process.

I certainly hope that 2014 is a good year. We found out not too long ago that Kat is scheduled for surgery on Feb 4. They are going to reconstruct a colon for her. Once that part is healed and working well, a final surgery will be planned - I'm not exactly sure what is being done at each stage, but its all to the good for her.

I'm sorry that we missed each other last year! What a coincidence!

I did have a salad for lunch today - my favorite lunch place is closing next week and I'm trying to make sure I get my "fix" before they do. :confused3

But, a salad almost never fills me up, so I had a couple of butterscotch krimpets for dessert

I'm still working on the Disney diet plan .....

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

yeah i had a turkey sandwich.. and washed it down with 2 SMALL bags of chips.. i did that....

But i have volleyball today.. so that's something right!?!?! :confused3

I thought after I updated my TR and caught up on every one else's...but somehow I missed yours. Please forgive me.

I would welcome your daughter to Chicago too. :)

How did you like Frozen? We went and saw Saving Mr. Banks this weekend instead of Frozen. Hoping to get to Frozen this weekend.

Just stopping by to say hi this morning...

I am back on my Disney diet... I did really well yesterday - but I was at the tippy top of my "allowed" calorie intake - which is fine. After several days of being waaaay under, my body needed some extra food yesterday.

Continued prayers for Kat.

D~

I'm so glad they are going to reconstruct Kat's colon! That will make her life soooo much easier and better. It's really amazing what they can do! Keeping her in my prayers!

I'm with everyone else on the losing weight train. Trouble is, I'm still back at the station!! I seriously need motivation. Hating the way I look in photos apparently isn't enough, though it should be. Why oh why do sweets taste so good and cottage cheese not so much?? Good luck to all who are on the Disney diet. I wish you great success!!

Oh, and Jennifer is doing so great with her PT that they have delayed her surgery for a year or two. That is if things continue the way they are going. So, thanks so much for all the prayers...they've been answered!!

Have a great day Tess!

Yeah, I'm sure the volleyball practice helped with the 2 bags of chips....

We loved Frozen! I want to go see it again.

I also wanted to let you know that I'm behind on your tr but I am catching up. Will post there later.

My Disney diet just got a kick-start - I'll post about it below

That is wonderful news about Jennifer! I'm not really into eating cottage cheese either....

Well, Charlie went to the doctor for a check-up and his blood sugar was not where it was supposed to be, so the doc told him he needed to be on a low carb diet. So we've been doing low carb meals since then. He has to go out of town this coming week, so I'll be on my own. I'm going to try the South beach diet again. I had success with it in the past, but its been hard to keep up with it with Charlie buying ice cream and such - which he should not eat either. We are both going to be changing the way we eat.

On a sour note, Charlie's car broke down on Friday- about 100 miles from home :worried: I'm hoping its not something serious, since getting a new car is not in the current budget. Actually, if we did end up getting a newer car, I would end up driving it back and forth to work::yes::

I've started to look at which hotel we want to stay in when we go to Universal. Without a large discount, I'm not sure we will be staying on site. I can live without the perks at those prices. I'm looking forward to seeing the new WWofHP section. The tv stations are showing previews of it!:hyper:

We are still looking at dinner ressies. I have about a month and a half before I need to finally decide.

I need to make another over the back bag for Disney, since I gave my Minnie bag to my niece. She was drooling over it, so I figured I better hand it over....

I'm still working out colors and designs for my bag, but think Mickey colors......

I am intrigued by the whole Harry Potter thing at Universal, but I have yet to be sufficiently motivated to take a day I could be at Disney to visit Universal. Maybe one day. I hope you find a good hotel you'll be happy with. How far away is Universal from Disney? I know there are tons of hotels in that whole area, so it may be a matter of the best bang for your buck.

I hope Jim is doing okay, now that he's back home. Going through things must be so hard for him this soon after Gwen's death. I'll keep him in my prayers.

A new bag sounds like fun. How nice for you to have given your other one away. I'm working on a couple of outfits for our granddaughter, Charlotte for our upcoming trip. One is a Frozen theme and the other is Cinderella. She'll be bringing the Rapunzel dress I made for her a year ago too. We're only 16 days away and I'm getting pretty excited! Hope you have a great day, Tess!

Universal is not that far away, but I'm pretty sure we will be driving :rolleyes1 :drive: when we go in Sept. I am not taking days away from my Disney time - we are going down 3 days early, so I can get my Harry Potter fix. We went one day 3 years ago, just to visit Harry. Spent a lot of money for a few hours visit :confused3 but it was fun.

Jim seems to be doing OK. I know that he is trying to get his house in good shape so he can list it for sale. Not that he has a lot to do - he has never lived anywhere that he did not make improvements along the way - and he is a perfectionist.

I want to make a Frozen dress!!!! for me;):lmao: Your trip is coming up fast!

I agree - I hope Jim is doing OK too - I just cannot imagine how hard this must be for him.

Cannot wait to see your new bag and your new dress... Are you doing an exact replica of the dress or just a nod towards it?

D~

HELLO THERE!!!!

Hope Jim is doing alright..

I cannot wait to see this Frozen dress!!! popcorn::

I will be calling Jim later today, since it is only 6:30 am there right now.

I'm not sure I'm actually going to make a Frozen dress, though if I do, it will be fairly accurate. It would be for my costume for MNSSHP. We are considering doing the MM club tishirts and ears - just because it would be very easy to do and pack. Though Charlie did say that he would be Olaf.....

I still have time to think this one through....

Day 3 of the Disney diet....so far, I've been taking things one day at a time. I figure if I can get through each day, without worrying about tomorrow, then I can do this. I need to up my water intake - I made it to 5 glasses yesterday. I've also been doing the weight training every other day. I'm only doing 4 lb dumbbells so far, but I am getting ready to move up to 5lb weights. The walking has not been going so well. I absolutely hate walking on the treadmill....

COME ON!!! OLAF!!! I would PAY to see this...
The MM club is what we will more then likely do. we can ALL MATCH!!
although i am still voting for Elsa's dress and Olaf...

GOOD FOR YOU!!! :cheer2:

My eating habits are SO OFF! between work, all of them, sports, etc. I do know when i have time to eat.. this is my main issue.. Plus i have to go for another Blood test for my jacked up thyroid.. :mic:

I cast my vote with Mo...I think Jim as Olaf would be outstanding! And of course you have the skills to pull off a stunning dress. And you have plenty of time to work on them. Ok, so that's settled. Carry on.:rotfl:

Thata should be Charlie. Thanks for making the decision for me, just need to work out the logistics on this one....

Jim is doing ok - day to day and sometimes hour to hour. He's been going through Gwen's things - she saved EVERYTHING! so its been hard some days and funny some days seeing what she saved. He's getting ready to put the house on the market. Although I talked to him on Tuesday, when we were in the midst of yet another snow storm and he asked me why he was going to move back to PA? I told him because he missed me.

Disney diet is still going well, but I'm off track with exercising - I've been shoveling snow instead - tomorrow I should be back to my weight training, but the walking has taken a nose dive. I really don't like our treadmill, but I guess I'm going to have to suck it up and use it anyway. Looks like we need to budget to buy another car in the not too distant future.

No new Disney news yet...but its only about 7 weeks until I'm there again!pixiedust:

:rotfl:Of course Charlie!! My prayers are for Tess and Jim every day, so I guess that's why he slipped in there! What a dork!:upsidedow

Glad he's making progress. I, too, am wondering about why he would want to move from Hawaii. But family trumps beautiful weather every time. He must really need to be near all of you.

Don't you hate when it's time to buy a car? We drive ours until they die a natural death. But in this weather it's important to have a reliable car, that's for sure.

Your trip is so close! I know you're getting excited. I'm a bit concerned about flights for our trip in 9 days. Since the weather has messed things up so much from that standpoint. Hoping we get a break by then. I usually buy trip insurance, but didn't this time. Go figure.

Hope you have a great day!:goodvibes

First prayers for everyone!!!

I am SO glad the Halloween costumes are finalized by Lois and I Olaf and Elsa it IS!!
Charlie is going to ROCK the snowman!!! not to mention you will look A-MAZ-ING!!!

9 days... you better do a trip report!!!

We usually drive ours too until they die. We will more than likely buy another used car. We have a very reliable mechanic who also sells cars (is that a conflict of interest???) Every car we've owned for the last 12 years have been bought from him. Once we do some research, we will ask him to find what we want. It won't be for a couple of months yet though (I hope).

Haven't checked a weather forecast, but I hope you have great weather for your trip.

Lois need to step this up and notch... Just sayin...

Tess, I think that shoveling snow definitely counts AS exercise. We've all had our fair share of that lately. :headache:
