Ok so I have been in late Aug twice already but cant remeber what the wait times were for some of the more popular rides and attractions anyone remember?

Space Mt?
Splash Mt
BTM
Mission Space
TT
Soarin
Tower Terror
Soarin

Wondering if any would be over 30 min. Being that some of the TS places are so booked up in late Aug I am wondering if the parks are gonna be crowded or if its the normal amount of ppl going and because they are getting free dining ppl that dont normally eat TS are making ADRs..Does that make sense?

Hi Tasha,

There is no set answer to your question. It depends on many things including the day of the week and the time of day.

There is no telling what a group of people will do on a given day in a given month.

The parks will not be that crowded since school is back in session in a good chunk of the country. The free dining offer does fill up the restaurants more than the parks!

Thanks Bob.. You actually answered my question.. I just went around the wrong way of asking it..lol Basically it will be the TS places that will be crowded hopefully not the parks..

I went last year Aug 28th- Sept 2nd

the only lines we saw for more than 30 minutes were Soarin(45 min) and Splash Mountain (30 min)

but that was just the posted time- every line we went in was at least 5 minutes less than posted

We are going end of August and we went the same time 2 years ago. During the week was fine and minimal crowds. However it picked up during the weekend of Labor Day which I am expecting this year as well. In fact on Labor Day 2 years ago when we were checking out of the All Star Music, the maid told my DH that 1000 rooms were vacating. We thought that was a lot and that was just 1 resort.

I went last August around Labor Day Weekend, most kids were back in school, I think. We actually missed our flight and were able to get on the next one easily because of the "low # of families traveling that week" per the ticket agent.

As for wait times nothing was bad if we got there at park opening. We got to MK early and I walked on to Space Mt. and rode twice in a row--no wait. Later in the afternoon I happened to catch Splash when it was up and running after being broken for a couple hours and when they started it back up the wait was only 5 minutes...I was in the right place at the right time. We got Fast Passes for BTMR and only waited 10 minutes with that. Saw all of Fantasyland except Peter Pan in the morning with only 10-20 minutes wait each ride. Test Track was down b/c of rain when we wanted to ride so skipped that one, DH walked on the single rider line a Mission Space (no wait) and we used a Fast Pass for Soarin', and Kilimanjaro Safari. Walked on twice with no wait to Kali River Rapids at AK around opening time (bring a change of dry clothes :) ). Didn't do any of the thrill rides at MGM.

Basically--get there at park opening or as close to it as you can, have at least a basic plan & use your Fast Passes and you'll be fine. Also, drink plenty of water because August is hot, hot, hot! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: I almost passed out at Animal Kingdom from going too many hours without water.

Have fun! :thumbsup2
