Wait Times App?

I downloaded the only thing issued by Disney (Disneyland Explorer) and it seems pretty useless. Am I missing something or should I purchase an independent wait times app? If so, which one?

I recommend downloading the official Disneyland App (it is not the same as the Disneyland Explorer App). It is available for both Android and Apple devices. It has wait times, current FP return times, character schedules, etc.

You want the official Disneyland app. I got mine from the Google Play Store.

And if for some reason you're having trouble getting the app to load in the park (unless they got wifi since the last time I went, sometimes data was very slow), you can also call otto for that information. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/07/got-a-disneyland-resort-question-just-ask-otto/ .

The official Disneyland App is really good. They keep the wait times up to date pretty decently. We did notice that every time we reopened the app we needed to force close it first (on iPhone) to get it to update. We also rarely had data problems and it was packed this weekend.

Glad the app is accurate for wait times! Does it seem to be pretty accurate for characters?

The characters are pretty accurate as well. However, on Tuesday we noticed that some of the characters weren't staying out as long as mentioned (cutting short by 5-10 minutes) but it could have been due to the heat reaching high 80's - 90's.

I was a fan of Lines for WDW. Not so much for DLR - it's not as accurate as the WDW version, especially when it comes to FP return times and crowd calculators. The official app is quite good.

Good to know. I've only used it for WDW so far. Looking forward to comparing the two apps in 65 days!
