Wait time for Peter Pan exceeds RSR!

Since downloading the Disneyland app the other day I have been having way too much fun looking at the wait times throughout the day. It was a busy morning for me and I finally looked at the times at 11:45. Much to my surprise RSR only had a wait of 40 minutes at that time, as did Space Mountain and Soarin'. Peter Pan had a 50 minute wait, but everything else was low with Star Tours and Toy Story only having 35 minute waitw. By 12:05, the wait times have risen with RSR hitting 50 minutes and Star Tours skyrocketing to 55, but overall the crowds look very light with an average wait at Disneyland at 20.5 minutes and DCA at 14 minutes. And this is noon. Looks like this was a good week to visit Disneyland. What I will never be able to wrap my head around is how there are so many rides with 10 minute waits and yet people are waiting 50 minutes for Peter Pan. C'mon people!

Yesterday there was a sign up that said 50 minutes from this point about half a switchback into the line they had set up. But there were 2 empty switchbacks after that sign before the line actually started. I wonder if they're going by the fact that they have the line set up for over 50 minutes. Peter Pan is one of the rides where no CM stands at the start of the line and you don't see them use the red timing cards very often.

Hmm...I recorded Peter Pan as 35-40 minutes yesterday on the times I looked. Do you think the line was really less than 30 minutes? That line really is ridiculous. It's a great dark ride, but I just can't see waiting so long for it. I'm hopeful for the rumored FP, but then wonder how many FP they can really give out on such a low capacity ride and how quickly those FP will disappear.

That's why we always hit Peter Pan first - my kids (except for the baby) are starting to outgrow it - but I force them, it's my favorite...:o

We ride Peter Pan first only if we can be on within 10 minutes. I won't wait 30 minutes first thing in the morning. In that time you could ride half of Fantasyland because there are no waits.

I love playing with the app. I notice just now that there are still quite a few FPs left for RSR, at 12:40 in the afternoon!

It seems like shorter waits than last week...

Yeah. And Monday and Tuesday were pretty good too based on wait times. Looks like this was the week to be there. Next week begins Spring Break hours. Though I think that those on Spring Break next week will have better crowds than those in a few weeks.

We'll be there this weekend. I'm expecting it to be decent on Friday but pretty busy on Saturday and Sunday.

I sure hope so. We will be there during the last week of March. I'm prepping for crazy busy while hoping for the best with crowds.

Ok so the App is currently showing RSR as a 20 minute wait. FP are still available for 5:30-6:30. It's the first time I've looked at the app today. So I was thinking/wondering maybe the ride was broken down earlier. It seems odd that it would have a 20 minute wait. Space Mountain only shows 45 minutes though. And Indy is at 30 with Peter Pan at 35.

I am jealous of everyone visiting the parks this week. Yesterday and today have had low waits. Even now RSR is only showing 35 minutes.

Yeah, today's times are waaaay low. Well.... doesn't this just make me feel all tingly inside. And on top of everything else, they get World of Color, too. I feel like I got ripped off last week. Monster crowds and no finale' shows.

Yeah. I was thinking about how everyone was crushed last week. I think this was just a lucky week. Last week was February break for some schools, and next week starts Spring break. This week lucked out. My friends went this week last year and it was crazy busy like last week. However, they went this same week several years before and it was super nice like it is this year. It's too hard to predict a slow day or week now. It seems like last week should have been slow too, but it wasn't. It doesn't help that schools now have these bizarre breaks in October and February.

I haven't been on PP since the upgrade and likely won't for a number of years. I like the attraction well enough, but I much more like doing 4 others while Guests wait in the queue.

Because they want to ride Peter Pan.

Doesn't matter if a ride is 10 minutes if you don't want to ride it.

If everyone leaves the line and goes to ride other things, those lines will get longer and PP will get shorter. Then when those people all come back later, PP will be long again.

Watching wait times this week it seems the PP wait was pretty stable between 35-50 minutes. My feeling is ride 4 other rides in the time it takes to wait for that one, then later in the day when all the lines are long wait for PP. A lot of people don't like the idea of FP for Peter Pan, but I"m looking forward to it and hope the rumor is true.

I've been looking at wait times, too. We're going next Friday and Saturday. I know it's absolutely useless because it'll definitely be more crowded by then, but it's kind of making me sad that the crowds have been so low!

Oh, well. Our last trip was Veteran's Day weekend (crowded) and we've also gone 3 days before Christmas (even more crowded). It'll probably be better than April because Easter is later this year, so I'm choosing to remain at least cautiously optimistic. ;)

Well I hope the crowds are good for you.

The wait times are shorter this morning than they were on Monday. It's just crazy. I expect it will get busier as the day goes on. Both RSR and Toy Story were closed when I checked at 8:15 and 9:45. Several rides were closed at 8:15 in DL too, though they were all open at 9:45. Today is the last Saturday Deluxe APs are valid until mid August.
