Wait time 250 min??

Just returned yesterday and the only ride we had to wait more than an hour for was EE and that's only because we hopped over after lunch when it was crazy busy! I never saw a wait longer than 105 minutes! I just posted my report and the crowds didn't bother us!;)

If it is like this in May, I am in trouble:scared1: I had back surgery and can walk okay but standing more than 30 minutes without being able to sit down is a no-go for me! Guess I would be laying at the pool! Yikes:eek:

I also just returned from WDW and never waited more than 15 mins except for one ride (RnR). It was great!

We were also at DW last week and let me tell you there was no way you could have been in the parks and not waited at least an hour for every ride. We were at MK at 1:30 in the morning( EMH) and the wait for Pooh,Peter Pan, Small world, and snow white was still 15-20 minutes.

We waited 90 minutes once for Mission space, but only because the wait time posted was 30 minutes and we were already in line. While we rode that my wife got fast passes for Soarin. The CM were actually handing out the fast passes, no standing in line, no using your fast pass ticket. That is why they went so fast. That alllowed us to fast pass TT. Without those two things the day at Epcot would have been wasted. That was the day that they closed MK, and almost closed Epcot.

The crowds were fierce. We still had loads of fun, but only because as veterans we knew what to do. A newbie at DW last week would have been pretty disillusioned.

Can you explain what you mean about CMs "handing out" fast passes??

At extreme times instead of putting your card into the FP machine, they just hand them out by showing your cards. This way they can move more people through the building.

When they do this the computer does not know that you just got a FP so you can put it in at TT or MS and get another FP immediately. These times are rare and if your there when it happens, you should be thankful because that means that the park is crazy busy.

I've experienced this when FP machines opened back up again for the evening EMH at TSM. The line was very long and clogging the sidewalk waiting for official "closing time" When I got up there the CM's were at each machine doing their trick for dispensing a ticket w/o a ticket ;). They asked how many I needed and I got one for each in my party. I stepped to the side and about 10 min. later realized they were still dispensing and the lines MUCH shorter. So, I got back in line and got another round of FP for everyone for later in the night. Then went next door to next attraction. Mid-way thru I slapped myself on the forehead and realized the only reason I had 2 sets was because our tickets were never swiped and I could have gotten FP's at another ride w/our tickets. So, we booked it over to RnR stood in line and 2 people before us they ran out of FP for the night. Double drat and I won't make that mistake again.

I so agree. We go end of September. Moved it to end of August this year due to my kids schools. We are hoping that the crowds wont be that much more in August. I cant see waiting in line that long as any kind of fun!

I can't imagine how long the fastpass line for Space Mountain was when it was out of the building. It's 15 - 20 minutes when it isn't that far from the turnstyle. Probably around 45 minutes I guess (since standby out of the building is around 100 - 110 minutes).

I can't imagine waiting hours for any ride. The longest I have ever waited is 40 minutes. At my local park, when a new ride opened (Kingda Ka), the wait time on the first Saturday after it opened was reportedly 8 hours :scared1: It's a 26 second ride, not worth more than 15 minutes at the most.

We just returned yesterday from our week at Disney. Yes, there were some incredible huge lines with 180 minute waits and we were at Magic Kingdom the day it was closed for capacity, but we were able to do everything we wanted to do. We got to the parks early, maximized the use of fastpasses and child swap and never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride. Even though it's crazy busy there right now you can still do so much by getting to the parks early and know what you want to do.

same scenario for us...and we were also able to do everything we wanted to do...sometimes twice, by using babyswap, fp, ropedrop, and bday fp.
however, i will NEVER go back during peak season again. clipped too many heels with our stroller just trying to walk!:sad2:

I can't imagine why it would be like this in May.

We were there this past week. It was Easter and spring break at the same time. Add to that international travelers also on their two week break (UK and Australia at least) and crazy weather - it was very cold on Tuesday and Wednesday - like low 50s, we saw our breath while waiting for the buses in the morning and got frozen out of DHS by 6:00 on Wednesday (even with jeans, long sleeved shirts and sweatshirts), which meant that no one was at the water parks.....everyone went to the other parks......I can't imagine all of these things coiinciding in May. The crowds were forecasted to be 9, then 10 all last week. May shows 8s. 8 is not 10.

For long waits, there is really to place to sit in line - maybe consider getting a wheelchair or ECV. You want to be comfortable - you can rent one for length of stay and it is reasonable - look at the disAbilities board. Also - use fastpass whenever possible and go to the parks early to avoid the crowds.

Good luck - I hope things go well for you. Try not to worry.

:scared1:

I cannot even imagine waiting for more than an hour for any ride. I waited an hour for HM one year during a spring break trip and with the sun as hot as it was I seriously didn't think I'd make it! Thinking about a wait FOUR TIMES that just makes my head hurt.

I still don't understand why people wait soo long for a short ride!! For example: You wait 4 hrs to go on Soarin' and when you finally get on it's over in less than 5mins!! That time could have been used at other attractions, or for just exploring the park!!
A funny thing I heard from a guest standing in line for Soarin' when the wait time was 2 hrs!! "Come on guys, the wait time is only an hour and 20 minutes!!" Sorry guys, the wait is 120 minutes LOL

The last time I went during spring break was 1983 and things were a little more sedate then now. Off season works for the DW and I now with October and early December being our favorites.

Hey CKDSNYNT! I cant wait in lines for too long due to cfids and fms. I will be getting a guest assistance card at guest services. It allows cast members to give you a place to sit or make other accommodations If your health is being impacted. Supposedly you just tell them what you need and they will give you the pass. I'm bringing a note from my Dr on his script pad stating what accommodations I may need. It can be for any medical condition. So You may want to get it just in case you have a bad day so your not completely out of running for rides etc.:upsidedow

I am still not sure what a real good touring plan looks like for super crowded parks. I have subscribed to touring plans. It would be helpful if some of you touring experts would share yours::yes::

Ew OMG I would never go when it is insanely busy.. I have no patience when it comes to crowds lol.

OMG I have never ever waited more than 5 mins for the HM. Most of the time there is not even a wait lol!
