Wait Listed... Is there hope?

Well -- I blew it... since buying into DVC two years ago, we have stayed for the week after Thanksgiving. We own at VWL. Last year I made the reservation right at the 11 Month window and had no problem with getting the 1Bd I wanted. This year (Nov/Dec 2003) I needed a 2Bd. I made the resv. for Saturday 29th on the first day possible and was fine. I was then REALLY busy at work and each time I tried to call I kept getting busy signals. I let it go for a few days (because I was out of town with work... and couldn't sit on hold if I got through...) -- when things finally slowed down about two weeks ago - I finally got through and wanted to get the remaining days (Sun -- Friday) and was told that it wasn't available -- ARGH!!!! So, I now have a 1Bd for the balance, but really need a two bedroom. A studio was not available to pair with the 1bd... So, I am now on the waitlist for the 2 bedroom.

So folks, my question is -- should I give up hope?? I was thinking that at the 7month window there would be "shuffling around" - or perhaps I could simply get a 2bd. at the 7month window for another resort.

Help! I'm in the DOG-HOUSE at home!

You're far enough out that I would think that the list will probably come through. If you haven't heard anything by the 7 month window I would probably call just to see how things look.

I agree that it will probably work out by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. Worst case scenario will probably be having to stay at a resort other than VWL.

I feel your pain! I'm in the same boat!

I've got a 1 bedroom standard booked for the week after Thanksgiving (sun - fri) at BWV.

One week later, I tried to change it to a 2 bedroom standard and only got 2 of the 5 nights and had to waitlist the other 3.

I'm praying it will come through maybe in May like you said.

I'm the kind of person who likes things done and set in stone early on so this is driving me crazy! I will only wait till about a month before our trip before I give up.

You have a good chance this far out- people always change their plans! Next time if you can't get through- try emailing it might work for you.
