Wait List Success...???

I am booking my first trip with DVC points for December 6-12 and 17-20. My fiancee wants to stay at BWV for the first part of the trip and I want to stay at BLT for the second part. At the moment, we have our home resort AKL booked for both parts... and we will be waitlisting BWL and BLT. So my questions are...

What is the chance that we will land both BWV and BLT?

Does the wait list usually succeed?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!

I have been very successful with waitlists, but... haven't really tried either of these locations.

I think the big issue is that as I understand it you can only have a limited number of waitlists active at anyone one time now. So that rules out doing all views at both locations. I think view choice might be key here. Chances of MK view at BLT, probably slim same with BW view. Go with the middle of the road cost and view and you probably have a better shot!

I read in the handbook that a member can only have two rooms on a wait list at a time. We would really like the BWV room to have a BW view, but we would prefer the BLV at the BLT.

We're not opposed to staying at AKL for at least one part of the trip. But we've stayed there before and we would both like to stay somewhere new!

I've waitlisted twice with no sucess, however many Dis'ers post that they have great sucess. If the economy remains poor there may be cancellations with the holidays and all. Good luck!

Respectfully, there is very little chance that a Boardwalk view will come through for those dates. You're hoping for the most popular view (only about 20% of the rooms at the BWV have that view) for one of the most popular weeks of the year and you are booking at 7 months. If you really want a shot at staying that week at the BWV, waitlist for a Pool/Garden villa and if you get it, request a view of the Village Green. (I've assumed you want a studio). Do a search for Village Green for more info on that request. It's almost as good as a Boardwalk view and it's considered a Pool/Garden view. Of course, requests are not guaranteed. Good luck!

I believe the BLT studio will actually be easier to get than the Pool/Garden villa at the BWV. Bay Lake views make up the largest category of rooms there and Disney may be declaring more rooms into the condominium later this year if sales go well.

Thanks for the input! We are not opposed to a Pool View! Also, we may flip the stay... and stay at the BLTs first and the BWV second. If we end up with AKL... no biggie, but we would like to get at least one of the others as well.
