Wait list questions

I'm new to the wonderful world of DVC. I was wondering if someone could explain to me what happens if the resort you want is unavailable. For example say I wanted to go to BCV in August for 4 nights ,Mon- Fri , a 1 bedroom and BCV is not available but BWV is available. Can I book the BWV and ask to waitlist BCV?? Would I ask to wait list all 4 nights as a block or each night individually? If I did it individually don't I run the risk of having to move 4x??. Thanks for the insight.

You are correct, you could end up moving everyday. I have used the wait list several times, and I book what I can, then ask to switch me automatically only if all nights are available. I would not want to be moving often. Maybe if 5 nights at one then 5 at another I could handle, but not every night or 2.

By the way, the wait list has worked everytime so far.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but....I'm currently waitlisting for a one bedroom standard view at BWV. It's for my first two nights, the rest I was able to get. Should I call back and ask to waitlist day by day or keep it the way it is now and hope the two days open up together?
