Wait list question

I'm new to this waitlist thing and was wondering about strategy. Say for example I want BWV 2BR for Dec 1 - 8. If I waitlist for a 2br for Dec 1-8 and am first on the list say Dec 1 , 3, 5, come available do they "hold those dates for me of do they go to people further down the list that request just those dates??? Can you keep 2 ressies and cancel when your whole thing is available?? I'm sorry I just haven't done a wait list some I'm not sure whats "best".

You have a choice to waitlist day by day, or for the whole time period. If you go day by day, you MAY have to move even a few times. Do whatever you are most comfortable with. Lots of people have mentioned success with day to day, even at busy time, and not having to move in the end.

If you have the points to cover and not in jeopardy of banking deadlines, I suppose you can try to make 2 ressies, waitlisting for the second one. I never would have enough to cover both without borrowing, but even then if you were to cancel the one with current year points, you can still bank them if you are within the time frame. Good idea, I think, I'll wait to see what others say!
