My boyfriend and I decided to take a last minute trip memorial day week. We are doing 2 nights in Disney, 3 in Vero Beach, and 2 more back at Disney. I was able to get reservations every night except the first 2 (May 25th & 26th). I am waitlisted and have been checking every day with no luck. Right now my waitlist is for both nights together at SSR (I figure if anything that one should get availability first due to size). Should I change my waitlist, any tips? Pixie dust would be appreciated lol.

Unless you have other wait lists for the UY, you have another spot on the list to use. I'd do one of 2 things. Either add a second WL for another resort or change the WL for SSR to one for each day. OKW non HH view and SSR will give you the largest chances of success for 2 days together. Once you get something that will work, you can then WL things you'd rather have. Don'g forget the WL stops at 31 days or 7 days depending, I'm assuming you're will stop at 7 days. After that it's all simply by checking. Online access really helps for that option. I had SSR those dates for 2 units and let them go a few weeks ago in favor or AKV.

Thanks. I do have them canceling 7days out, I have a 2nd wait list for BWV boardwalk view for 1 night at the end of the trip (1 night is in garden and 1 in boardwalk view currently). I'm thinking I am going to cancel the BWV wait list and wait list for the beginning of the trip since I at least have a room, and will have more days to get the BW filled.

Taking the chance on having to change rooms by ditching the second WL is likely the best choice but there are other options. I'm sure you know you'll have a better chance of getting the Garden/Pool view at BWV than the BW view. I'd keep looking at all options online as well and take anything that comes up for your unit needs that gives you 2 rooms together for either of the dates you need then you can WL more desirable options. Another options that you might add to the mix is making a cash reservation you could cancel later as a backup. You could also look at changing your VB time around to give you more days that would work for WDW (I'm assuming your using ME & renting a car just for those 3 days).

Thanks for your advice I appreciate it, we are actually renting a car the whole time, I was able to get it for only $120 all taxes and fees so I jumped on it. I'm debating making a reservation off site if I can't get a reservation but that's last resort. We are very flexible and have the ability to switch things around if need be so in hoping something comes thru.

I'd make something you could cancel to give you options. Having a car the entire time you could easily change your dates or ratios around if you wanted. Actually I think you'd be better off having one WDW stay and one VB stay anyway even if you have an early flight on departure day. Good luck, I hope you get something. Email me directly as a reminder because I have AKV studios (3) for those dates and there's a chance I may have to cancel at least one. That way we could coordinate to try to help you get what I cancel if that happens.

Not sure how long it has been since your first waitlist requestbut making a change now could cause a problem depending on the time frame.

I did the same thing. I had a request with two days and after speaking with member services, they did explain I had a better chance by separating days. So I did that. After a month of nothing happening with the wait list, I called member services. They explained to me that every time you make a change to your wait list you get bumped back down to the bottom of the list. I would not recommend canceling the existing reservation, unless it has only been a short amount of time since the original request. I would add a second request like the poster above advised. Good luck. ;)

This is correct, a change puts you at the bottom of the list and is a consideration. I'm not happy with how DVC does wait lists, it's confusing, tedious and unfair for resorts that have multiple options. I much prefer the way Marriott does it where you can WL any option including view for a given resort. However, the downside to Marriott is they hold the points so you have to have enough extra points to do so. I'm OK with the 2 at a time but believe a given resort and single unit size should only count as 1.

I agree, and I wish they would let you search one room type for all resorts and wait list like that. So instead of searching resort by resort I old search all studios and see what comes up.

I would add that it is worth checking the website several times a day if you can. I have often found availability for my waitlist before the waitlist has come through for me.

Good luck.

Thanks, I've actually turned into a neurotic person constantly checking lol
