Wait List Help Needed!

While I wait for my DVC contract to get through ROFR, we've rented points from a very nice member who has us booked for a mid-May visit at SSR, and wait-listed at BWVs and BCVs.

Reading the member handbook, it says:
your request remains on the wait list for up to 31 days before your arrival date. If you'd like your name on the wait list beyond this time, please contact MS.

Help me here. Does this mean that the request he made last Friday will stay in affect until 31 days before our ressie? And that between that 31 day window and the 7-day out end of wait lists, I need to ask him to make another request to keep us on the wait list? Seems strange, but we'd really like to try out BWV or BCV, so want to do anything/everything possible to increase our very slight chances.

Thanks for any advice on this, or experience with our chance to get a BCV/BWV studio at this late date!

Yes you should have the owner of the points call again and ask that the wait list keep running up to the 7 day mark. That way at least you will have a chance. If the owner doesn't call, the wait list will run out and you would have no chance.
