We are trying to get a 2-bedroom value and a studio at the AKV the first week of December (12/1 through 12/7). I know, a very high demand time. Since that isn't our home resort (VGC go, go, go! :cheer2:) I attempted to walk a reservation at 7 months, but kind of messed it up. In any case, until this evening we had reservations for 12/1 through 12/6 in the studio, and wait listed 12/6 to 12/7. We also have reservations for the value 2-bedroom from 12/1 through 12/4 and have wait listed 12/4 through 12/7.

Oh, the reason we're doing a studio and a two bedroom is that my two brothers and their wives are coming with DW and me. The Grand Villa costs more than the studio and value 2-bedroom and I don't have enough points for the Grand Villa. The reason we're staying at a DVC resort is that one of my brothers "doesn't get it" and thinks WDW is for kids.

So I was checking this evening and discovered that our 12/6 to 12/7 wait list for the studio came through! :cool1: So here's the question. I've seen some one day wait lists come through really quickly. (Actually on this reservation!) Should I break the remaining wait list for 12/4 to 12/7 into two wait lists: 12/4 to 12/5 and 12/5 to 12/7 to get the "one day advantage?" Of course making that change now will put me at the bottom of the wait list rather than being "near the top" (whatever that means).

Some times I over think things. Maybe I should just be patient. What would you do?

When I asked to be 2 waitlists for consecutive nights MS told me it was not allowed. Maybe the CM I spoke with was misinformed, but she would not allow me to do this.
Congrats on your other waitlist success!

The odds of a single night wait list coming through is greater than a multi night.

The odds of getting different answers from MS is 100%.

I just confirmed with MS that you can't have two wait lists that are contiguous. There has to be something in the middle. So in my case if I were to get a reservation for 12/5, then I could have two wait lists, one for 12/4, and the other for 12/6. As it is I just have to keep the 12/4 to 12/7 wait list.

This actually brings up another thought. What if I were to cancel my existing 12/4 to 12/7 wait list and just have one just for 12/4? Then when that comes through have one for 12/5? Then 12/6?

DW says I'm over thinking this whole process.

Keep what you have. Call MS every so often and ask if any of the days you are missing is available. If yes, book them. Then change your waitlist. The frequency of your calls is up to you and it does happen that callers get lucky and snag something before it goes to a waitlist. It's a long shot, but probably better than what you are considering, LOL.

DW's usually ARE correct. :teeth: But don't let it stop you obsessing if that will make you feel more in control, LOL.
