Wait List for HHI

We are new to DVC and for our first trip we wanted to go to HHI at the end of April. We waitlisted for a studio today. Does anyone have any idea what our chances might be? How are you notified that you got it or didn't? Thanks for help!

If you are sure you want to go - you might check and see what the cash price is and make a back-up reservation. We have done this with Vero Beach and often are able to change over to points - sometimes while we are already on property. You might see if they have any of your days available on points and reserve those and then do cash for the other days.

Hilton Head is a great property - I would think the end of April would likely come through as long as it is not the week before or after Easter.

HHI has only 21 studios if all are "locked-off" from connecting 1 bedroom villa, so if studios are already booked as part of a lock-off 2 bedroom villa there can be even less than 21 available. I don't mean to sound like it isn't going to be possible, but it could be a difficult reservation to get especially that you are looking at April 2011 - it's already under 4 mos away & holiday week. If you have points available maybe consider 2 bedroom villa as this size has most amount of units at this property.

We waitlisted for a studio for Eastertime and it came thru within a few weeks. However, the end of April is not only vacation for some, Easter, and the Heitage golf classic. And when we were at the resort at Thanksgiving and said to the Front Desk CMs "See you at Easter!", they said "I hope you have your reservations already". So I suspect the resort is pretty full up by now, and since there a so few studios, I don't feel too confident about you getting the waitlist at this point.
