Wait List experiences

Hi, folks:

I'm really curious about people's experience with multiple-day wait lists. I've been thinking that a wait list of more than a day or two has a much less good chance of coming through than a single (or two-day) wait list. This thinking is based on my experience under the old rules, when one could wait list day-by-day (and without a limit on the number of waitlists)...I got all but one of my waitlists in those days, and all of them came through "in pieces"--i.e., a day here and a day there until the whole thing was done...

Since the new rules took effect, I've only waitlisted twice--once for five days, which did not come through; and once for one day, which did come through

So, has anyone out there in DIS Boards land had luck with waitlists of 3-4-5 days, or even a week? If so, how long did it take, was it during a busy time, which resort was it, how close to the trip was it (both getting on the waitlist and having the wait list come through)?

Really curious about "the trend" on this...

I think your logic is sound. Single days would be easier than long waitlists. We just had a WL for Easter week come through, but it was just for 2 days. All of our other waitlists were the same - a day or a few days, and they have almost all come through.

My waitlist for 4 days just came thru after a 10 day wait for a value studio at AKV. Last year I'd had a multiday waitlist come thru in a few days also. However, this was for the last week in September, a traditionally slow time.

Hi - we wait listed at BWV for 3 days in a preferred view room visiting this May. It took 28 days to come through, but we got exactly what we asked for

I made a mistake before. I've had a 5 night BLT stay come through for the January Marathon time in '10.

I had a reservation for 5 nights starting last August 7th that I made at 11 months out. At 7 months, I waitlisted for a THV. That waitlist came through 4 days later for all 5 nights.

We recently had to change a trip we had booked at at our 11 month window at BLT to accommodate a business trip my husband needs to take (let me tell you I was not impressed when 3 months before our vacation he came home and told me we needed to change the dates - thankfully I hadn't booked our flights yet). We weren't able to get BLT for the entire trip, so decided to do a split stay with Boardwalk.

We originally booked a Preferred View, but to save some points we decided to waitlist a standard view 1 bedroom - it came through 5 days later Looking forward to trying Boardwalk for the first time

I've been lucky with the waitlist. Always for a 1 bedroom.

Was waitlisted for 4 nights begining 4/18/11 at BWV and it came thru last month with a garden/pool view. Still hoping for a Boardwalk View but don't expect that to happen.

Last January (2010) was waitlisted for BLT any view and it came thru - 5 nights, lake view.

Before that it was BCV in Dec 07 for a week and we got that too.

About 3 weeks ago I waitlisted for 3 nights in a standard view studio Jambo House for early-mid June. At the same time I waitlisted for the first night only thinking I would just have to piece it together. Imagine my surprise when 5 days later the 3 nights came through . . . instead of just the one night.
