Wait for it...Weight for it...June 2009 WL **PACKING**

Where should the anniversary cake be?

  • Arrival night at WCC, let's get crazy!! Have cake all week.

  • Cali Grill, second night, still close to the hotel to drop off left overs.

  • Yachtsman Steakhouse, midweek, hope the leftovers do well in car while we play putt putt

  • Artist Point, last night, plan on taking leftovers home to Texas!!

I love your plans - they sound great! Good for you about getting the whole family involved in the planning! :goodvibes

. My Dad gave me the best Christmas gift ever one year. He recorded all the episodes of Divine Design, and also some episodes of Holmes on Homes (I LOVE that man! He CRACKS me UP!), Designed to Sell, and Flip This House (I think that's the name?). He made me a ton of DVDs with all these shows and gave them to me for Christmas! Just a great Dad!:cool1:

Aw, that was so sweet of your Dad to record all that for you. What an awesome gift for you!

I voted to have the cake at WCC -- cake all week long!! Why not? You're on vacation, right? Time to indulge!! :thumbsup2

Btw, your plans look great! I'm jealous...I've always wanted to do evening EMH at AK, but it never is offered while we are there. I would LOVE to ride EE at night at least once!!

I said CA Grille!! Make a special meal even more special!!:goodvibes But I really believe that whenever you choose will be great!!

OK. I voted for ARRIVAL at WL. Not just to celebrate your Anniversary but to celebrate your great trip at WDW for Bolt, too. Celebrate all week!
It will be a pain in the tuckus for you to carry cake leftovers, no matter how close you are to the resort.

Dealing with left over cake is an issue... I was thinking cake for breakfast...

I'm with you! I think we are the only two to respond so far  A cake would be fun to have as a surprise the day you get there. And I am sure the WCC would make it a fun for all event, or a proper celebration!!! It would be a great way to start your vacation... :goodvibes

I am thinking it would be a great way to start too...

I have to be careful with how much and when I bring up Disney. Bolt says, You are all about Disney. It's Disney this and Disney that.

I'm working hard on the plans. Things are starting to come together...

I agree about indulging... Don't you just love cake for breakfast? I mean seriously, when you think about it, nutritionally, there is very little difference between cake and let's say, pancakes with butter and syrup? Waffles? Donuts? All super healthy options for breakfast.:rolleyes1

Riding EE at night is one of my main motivations for pm EMH at AK. I like to see all the parks in the evening, and I realize that AK probably won't be all that, considering that the animals are there and need to rest, etc., but still...

I said CA Grille!! Make a special meal even more special!!:goodvibes But I really believe that whenever you choose will be great!!

That's the one that hangs me up. I like the idea of being up in the pretty restaurant and having the cake there. It's a special dinner type place and a cake is a special dinner type thing... CA Grille is the one that keeps me from deciding...

Ok. So I saw the line up for Night of Joy and we are seriously considering going back to WDW in Sept to go to it. It would mean that Bolt would miss a Friday from school, but I think we could let the teacher know, and one day wouldn't be a big deal.

I've been doing the cost estimates... If we upgrade our tickets to 10 day tickets and add the nonexpiration option, then we could just get a room only ressie. Bolt would be more than excited to stay at All Star Sports, which is where he was hoping we would go in June...

The Night of Joy is at DHS, which we aren't going to in June, so it would be great fun to go there in September... and with the non exp tickets from the June trip, we could go to another park earlier in the day...

Y'all might call me crazy but I think I might just book it and see what happens!:upsidedow :woohoo: I'll have to be watching Southwest like a hawk to get cheap tickets!

OH.....and right before my eyes...there was a courtyard view only room at WL available for our dates. I tried to call and get it, but it was taken as my CM was trying to finalize the changes on my ressie.:headache:  I'm on the lookout for one of those, Bolt isn't excited at all about the bunkbeds...

WDW in September, such a great time to go. Smallest crowds I've ever seen!

Were you there during a free dining promo? They've offered free dining during that time for I don't know how long. I don't think we would be getting a package so it doens't really influence my decision...just thinking of the crowd question...

So..... why ... not ... just ... change ... the ... restaurant?

Aren't you already eating at WCC...:upsidedow

Nope. I am already plotting for Thanksgiving or Christmas...
Keep trying for your room! I bet you'll be able to get it! We still have a few more months to go!

Also, I finally did it....:upsidedow Have you been over?

YUP, ditto. I was just talking to DH last night saying, "You know, around Sept. they usually have free dining at Disney..." and he said "Are you trying to convince me to do another trip when we haven't even gone on this one?":sad2: I didn't get very far...

In regards to you booking another trip... would it make any sense to wait til you get to WL for a bounce back offer? Or could you still do the bounce back on dates you have already reserved? Just wondering...

Yup. We were there during free dining. It was great. :) I think I've only ever done the dining plan for free. :thumbsup2

We already have next Decembers trip planned. So your idea for Seot. sounds like a great idea! Don't forget that if they offer free dining you only have to buy a 1 day ticket and it will be good for whenever you want to use it!
When in Sept is night of Joy?

We are, but for breakfast. Peter really thinks that the antics at WCC sound like good fun for kicking off the vacation.

I would LOVE to go to WDW for Thanksgiving especially. Christmas would be cool too, but we do go back and forth between Peter's parents and mine. This year is his family so we don't have to travel for Christmas this year, which is really nice...

I'm just going to keep watching for the room. I was so frustrated. I should have just booked the thing online and then canceled the other. I had it up and ready to go.:sad2: Live and learn...

I didn't know you started a report...I'll head right on over. I'm glad you mentioned it.:)

Bounceback? What bounceback? Whatchu talkin bout Willis?

When in Sept is night of Joy?

Hearing y'all plot for more Disney time is really making me feel like I'm BEHIND in my planning!

Night of Joy is actually two nights. Sept 11 and 12, a Friday and Saturday, which is why Bolt would need to miss some school...:confused3

Usually, when you stay at a Disney resort, they have a flyer in your room offering a "bounceback offer" with substantial discounts, to encourage you to book another vacation before you leave to go back home. I have read on these boards, where people didn't have one of those flyers in their room, so they called the front desk and asked if one was available, and they did receive one.

I have seen them on every trip when I did a Moderate or above.

Just an FYI.

Ooh, going back in September sounds like a great idea to me!! I do agree w/ a PP about seeing what (and if) type of bounce back offer they have in June. Usually, they will have a flyer in your room indicating a pretty sweet deal (I've seen free dining and 40% on ones we've received). Then, you'd have to plan another trip...how could you say no to something like that?!? :goodvibes

We have NEVER seen that flyer! I thought it was only offered during free dining. Oh I will definitely take advantage of that! How could you not at LEAST BOOK it.:confused3 Once you are booked, you get to keep whatever offer you booked under, even if you make changes.:thumbsup2

Boo! I can't believe you've never seen it either. I've seen it when we stayed at POR and POP. The last one we got was back in October (at POP). They were offering free dining in December. Make sure to ask, even if you don't see a flyer. I hope you get one w/ a great deal in June!!! :goodvibes

So the idea of a quickie weekend in Sept has firmly taken hold.

The deal will be sealed if we purchase airfare, which I was checking on earlier today. Not too bad.

The hotel isn't even a question. We just have to stay at All Star Sports. I think we would have to book preferred so we could request the football section. I'm okay like that. I think the rooms were recently redone. It would also help me towards the goal of staying at every resort at Disney. And a fast weekend is definitely the one to pick for Peter and I to share a full sized bed. :rotfl: Besides, the less expensive option will be welcome after our June splurge!

The big question is whether or not we should just upgrade our tickets in June to APs.:confused3 With the potential family trip in 2010 looming ahead, it just might make good financial sense. We would just need to plan the 2010 trip for the week before this one, which is totally possible, so our AP would still be valid. And even if the big family trip didn't happen, we would probably still be interested in going.:rolleyes1

I could get really crazy and shoot for Spring Break 2010 too!!!:cool2:

I'm cracking myself up over here...

It's just nice to see the Disney love spread through the family. Peter is all over it. He wants me to gather all the details together. This past weekend, we asked Bolt where he would like to eat lunch. He somewhat seriously replied, "Disney World!":rotfl2: That's my boy!

AW How cute, his response for lunch!

RE the bounceback, I have only heard about them, but they do seem easy to get -- somewhere on a resort thread for "codes" there is a list that has the "current" bounceback dates, so by June the dates may change a little... probably a few more dates, but it looks like bounce back dates are until early Oct. But there may be some "black out days" But right, a room reservation is just as good to start!

I start scheming too much, too! :rotfl: We can go here, and then, and ooh! What about then, and.... :rolleyes1 TOO easy to do!

Oh, and re the APs we are actually chatting about that ourselves, b/c then I am hoping we could get that 40% room discount. On Mouse Savers they have a "historical" discount code list, when things were offered and what was offered, I've been consulting it...

Okay, going to Karate. Will post later on as well...
