If you have read my Oct 2011 report you might remember I made a pick and choose list for my husband. Basically it gave him a daily option of what to do for breakfast and lunch and where/what he wanted to do that day. It worked great for the both of us, for him because he actually thought he was controlling the vacation and for me because I was the one controlling the vacation and no matter which he picked I was very happy with it!

As we were getting some clothing together to see if we needed anything new for this trip I asked him if he would like another multiple choice list like last year. His response?

Todd: I don’t care what we do just please don’t kill me on this trip

Me: (Picture a shocked face) Moi? Kill you? How 'bout you don’t sleep away this entire trip…yeah, how about that?

Todd: I will perk up towards the end of the trip, just give me a few days in the beginning to relax

Well if this just doesn’t mess me up…see the first day is my birthday, the big birthday, the 40th birthday and I wanted to do whatever I wanted! Well who said marriage is 50-50 was right…time to play Lets Make A Deal!

Me: How about this, I promise I will not nag you to get out of work earlier than 2pm on Thurs so we can get to WDW by 4

Todd: Ok, lets pretend for a moment that this is going to happen…and what are we going to do if we get to WDW at 4pm you have dinner booked at 8pm? Run me to death?

Me: No, I promise…you can check in at the room and relax until dinner

Todd: And where will you be praytell?

Me: (See, he knows I do not have an off switch) Haven't figured that out yet Maybe I will go to DTD by myself?

Todd: And snack without me, not a chance! Ok, what else you got?

Me: (Now I said this in a huge rush, basically one long fast sentence) We can go back to the resort after dinner and since the next day is my birthday you have to do what I say and on Sunday I will let you relax by the pool….(picture me still rambling when he interrupts me)

Todd: Whoa, whoa whoa…don’t pretend that I never do what you say all the time. What are your plans for your big day?

Me: Um, I don’t know…breakfast, movie at DTD, bowling if Splits is open, shopping and dinner?

Todd: So what you are saying is no park? I can get on board with that.

Me: Yeah, that’s ok with me but I get to pick the movie!

Todd: Ok, just pick something girly so I can sleep through it

Me: Oh, you are are going to nap? Then we can go to a park afterwards since you will be so well rested!

And this is where he rolled his eyes at me….

I'm so excited for your new reviews!! I can't wait to see what Todd isn't in the mood for and then which restaurant he'll get a walk up!

By the way - my fiance and I have been together for 10 years now and I too have had to endure 10 years of hearing that I've robbed the cradle even though the poor "kid" is 38 years old! When my DD got her first cell phone the last four digits of her number were 7519 and he said "here's an easy way to remember it. Your mom looks like she's 75 and I look like I'm 19". He thinks he's so funny.

YAY! Your trip is almost here! I've been almost as excited about yours and your reviews as my own.

I think you're a FINE 40. At the end of my 40th year, I became a mother to an 6yr old, 5yr old, and 3yr old. I was exhausted. Now, near the end of my 42nd year, I feel better than I have in the last 5! Age smage.

My wish for your birthday is that you have some out-of-this-world dining experiences and your trip is all smiles. I know you'll have a great time, as always.
