I am sure this has been posted/asked many times. I have a 4 year old and 2 year old, going in may. We have a collapsible wagon and a double stroller, which one would you pick??

Even if wagons were allowed, I can't imagine that being the better choice anyway. It's much easier to push something in front of you to make sure you aren't running into anything/one versus pulling something behind you. But like the previous poster said, the wagon will not be allowed anyway.

As the PP's have noted, you won't be allowed to bring a wagon (or anything that would be pulled behind you) into the park with you.

I see at least one family with a wagon on each trip. I have no idea how they get them in but I wish someone would crack down a little harder on them. Besides, you would think people would find a stroller easier since you don't have to drag them behind you.

I never pulled my son in a wagon even if not at Disney World. Because I couldn't see him.

If you could pull a wagon and wanted to see your kids, you would have to turn around to see them. And then stop in the middle of a crowded walkway to take stock of what they were doing. The people around you would have to completely stop on short notice and if they were conversing with each other or sipping a soda or eating something and ran into the wagon, unintentionally, that could have some consequences for all involved.

Or, you could pull the wagon over to the side of the walkway but then you should be checking behind you as you do that so not being able to look ahead. If you didn't look ahead, then refer to the paragraph above for pulling the wagon in front of people behind you that had no idea you were going to do that.

The OP is fairly new on here and from other posts, this is either a first trip or a first trip with children. I think the point has been made about the wagons :)

OP, your children will be safe and comfortable in the stroller and they will have some protection from the sun. They will be able to nap in there if all the activities and excitement are too much for them and you will also have storage space to take things with you that you might need during the day without having to carry them.

Not too long until May. Enjoy your planning and have a great trip :goodvibes

I actually saw them remove someone because of their wagon. I was people watching by the mk entrance waiting for dh. A man walked in with a collapsed wagon. It appeared that the cm at the gate directed him toward the lockers (I was too far to hear but there was pointing in that direction). The man went about ten feet and started to open the wagon. Another cm went up to him and had him fold it and again directed him toward the lockers. He walked another ten feet looked around and started opening it again. This time multiple cm came up to him and he was walked out of the park.

I too don't get the reason for taking a wagon. It seems much more difficult than just using a stroller.

Sadly, strollers do not put an end to clueless behavior. Half the people have such huge strollers (and in fact even Disney's rental strollers have the same issue) that they can't actually see their kid(s) without stopping and walking around the side of the thing. So they do that, and block walkways and traffic anyway. ;)

That doesn't get into the ones that use their strollers as battering rams, but anyway.

Yes, I guess the issue with strollers at Disney World. I was blessed with a child who, at the age of 18 months, said "bye, bye stroller" and he's now 32 with two kids of his own. both have been to Disney World with the oldest having a stroller available at the age of five but her stuffed Stitch rode in it more than she did. The second, at the age of five, was fearless and marched Disney World with no need for a stroller.

BUT - that's my family. And, quite honestly, are rare with the walk thing.

I have been suddenly stopped behind double strollers at not even a moment's notice. But, I've given it a "whatever" and gone on with my day.

even if wagons were allowed, I would go with a stroller. so much more comfortable.

I am not sure about this part of your post although is was well intended. I post quite often but I'm not inclined to go out and search for every poster's previous comments. I, as I think others, have responded on this post and this post only. I didn't see anything "wrong" with what was posted. I think most posters wanted the OP to realize that wagons are not permitted according to Disney guidelines so the OP should plan differently.

I tried to bring a wagon in thru the international gateway into Epcot. I did not know about the no-wagon rule. My friends and I had a girls and kids only kids trip a few about six years ago... Anyway- it was easier for us to pull from the beach club where we were staying with several children under the age of five. It folded and had a canopy and the thought was a couple kids could nap or rest out of the sun while the others followed along. The cast member at the gateway said that wagons were not allowed- and they offered to "check" our wagon at the gate. We then rented a double stroller and continued for the rest of our day. We did not bother trying to get the wagon into any of the other parks since we then knew the rule- but man would that thing have been convenient to get the kids back to the room when walking back from Epcot and H.S. With tired/napping very young children.

She didn't go out and research anything. It was pretty obvious from their join date and number of posts.

Most attacks don't end with :)

I don't think they meant this against OP but the multiple responses saying the same thing. It baffles me too when it happens. Why do a dozen people have to say no wagons when it has already been said 6 times. Instead threads go on for pages with multiple people just answering what has already been answered with no additional insight.

I'm sorry, Disnut8, if my post looked like an attack on you or any of the other posters' comments. It was not designed to come across that way, but as the previous two posters picked up, I just felt that the question had been answered and given that the OP has recently joined the boards, the thread could easily have been interpreted by a newcomer that their question was silly.

First time visitors are often unaware of how big WDW is and how much walking there is. What is common knowledge to those of us who visit frequently is not necessarily logical. Disney has it's own set of rules that often defy all logic anywhere else in the world.

FWIW, no I did not do a history search of the posts. I'd seen a couple of the OP's posts elsewhere and recalled them and with a join date in the then current month and post count of 6, it was pretty much a given to me.
