Wagon Ride Route?

Does anyone know the route of the Wagon Rides at FW? I'd like to know if it passes by cabins and camp sites so I can view a lot of Christmas decorations in late November.

I'd say it's impossible to see every camp site/cabin on foot. I hear the buses just stay on the main roads and you'd have to get off and walk to see specific sites. Then I don't know which loops I should get off the bus to see.

I'm staying at POP and want to spend an evening at FW - Trails End, maybe a movie, fireworks on the lake....

I don't think renting a golf cart for a few hours would be very economical and they probably don't rent bikes after dark.

Any thoughts and suggestions on how I can maximize my decoration viewing in a few hours would be appreciated! Thanks!:thumbsup2

They go through a few loops. Don't know if it's always the same loops or how they select which ones to go through. Clip-Clop.

I agree with Retired and Happy- the wagon routes seem to vary. They definitely try to take guests through the loops with the best decorations. I have seen the wagons on the 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 700, 800 and 1400 loops. Last New Year's Eve, I saw a wagon heading past the 1500 loop toward the 1600-1900 loops. There has been a camper in the 1600 loop for the past few years with awesome Christmas decorations. I have never seen the wagons go all the way to the cabin loops.

So, when there are decorations to be seen, the wagon drivers will do their best to take you to see them.

Remember, though, that the wagon rides only go for 45 minutes, so you will probably only go around a loop or two.

Also, there are usually very good decorations in the 100 and 700 loops, and these are easy to reach by foot.

Thanks for the information!

Question about the weather at the end of November. I know we have no crystal balls, but I ask someone who goes at that time every year.... historically speaking, is there any chance of my having to bring my big heavy coat, or should I be fine to dress in layers?

Especially if I do some walking, I tend to get hot. (I live in Louisiana and I haven't had to pull out my winter coat in several year! I better go check to see that the moths haven't eaten it!)

You're better off in layers. My sister was in WDW the week after Christmas 2008 and she was miserably hot. Last year, we had a very cold winter in South Florida, but that's highly unusual.

We usually go for Epcot Food and Wine/Halloween, but this year, we've added a December trip in the hopes that we catch some cooler weather. Past Halloweens have been very warm and the kids have shed their costumes before trick or treating is halfway over.

November? Layers. Heavy coats are a waste of space. Of course, now that I've said that, we'll have the coldest November ever!

A few years back we did the private carriage ride at Christmas and we were able to see quite a few loops with decorations. We also did the wagon ride another night but the carriage ride covers more ground and you should see more. I think the cost was $35 for the 4 of us.

This is what I see on the Carriage Rides BEFORE 12/1/2010 - I wonder if the small carriage and large carriage rides cost the same? I am taking a solo trip and the night I am planning to go to FW is 12/1/10.

Price: $60.00

December 1, 2010 - December 30, 2010

Can accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 children ages 9 and under.

The camper in the 1600 loop this year is moving to the 400 loop so their Christmas decorations can be part of the Wagon Route

Or, perhaps for the cost of a cold beverage, there's a Fort Fiend with a golf cart that can chauffeur you around the loops... nothing's more fun than looping during the holidays!! Campers tend to go *all* out....
