I’m going to WDW in August for for nights with my three kids, 14, 8 and 8. I booked BWV standard view one bedroom.

I keep waffling though. Wondering if I should book the Poly or even the Grand. If I went with either of those, I’d do a studio.

Benefits of BWV are the kitchen (would cook breakfast and one other meal per day), low points, Community Hall, walk to two parks.

Love the idea of being in n MK area though....

If I went Studio, also considering Dining plan.

Is this your last trip to Disney World ever? If not, it really does not matter. Stay at BW this trip and VGF next Trip. They are all great resorts. I must admit that if I had a choice between a 1BR and a studio, I would take the 1BR. Maybe wait for the MK resorts until you have the points to get a 1BR there.

Absolutly I would stay with your BWV ressie. We love it when when stay there, you can't beat not waiting for transportation from two parks home!

Can you even get a studio at the Grand for August? They are mostly booked up. We were fortunate to get a Lake View studio for Labor Day Weekend right at 7am, but they were gone shortly thereafter... Standards were already gone.

To me a 1 BR ALWAYS is better than a studio. Especially now that few studios have freezer compartments so a 1 BR is your only way to guarantee ice. Also, the cooking factor, complete with regular oven and the refrigerator are priceless! Keep BWV (goodness-I'm not a BWV fan, never thought I'd say that):)

I'd go with the 1 BR. It's just so much more space. Plus, since the kids may or may not be going to bed at the same time, it gives you at least a moment of adult time, which is always nice.

I've never stayed at the GF or Poly, but I've stayed at BLT a few times. It's great with the younger kids that wanted to spend more time at MK than the other parks. So, I'd say your decision should take into consideration which parks you want to visit and which days. Walking from Epcot and taking the boat from HS is nice, but the crowds are not usually as high getting out of those parks at the end of the night as it is getting out of MK. That's usually a mad house and walking from there has it's benefits.

The other timing thing to consider is if you are doing the parks on your first or last days. When we get to the BW on the first day, we usually hit Epcot that afternoon/evening. I try to do the closest park on my first day. The last day is also usually just hitting that same park in the morning. Over a 6 night stay at BW, we do Epcot the first and last days and usually spend full days at the other parks the other 5 days. We do like having full days at MK, so I don't think I'd do the same thing if I was staying at the MK resorts. Minimizing your wait times for buses, boats, and trains increases your park time. Or your down time.

Just makes sense to go with a 1 BR regardless of where you stay, just for the room size, itself.. plus that resort is sooo nice in the evenings if you don't want to hit up the parks - nice little getaway in itself - imo

1 BR is a lot nicer since it's double the living space.

Also -- you'll be walking distance to both DHS and Epcot.

I love VGF -- but I would take the 1 BR at BWV over studio.

The only reason I would choose VGF in this scenario is if I was going to be hitting up magic kingdom three or more days.

With that said, you aren't going to be having a stroller -- so riding the buses isn't nearly as big of a deal...which makes BWV even more of a better option.

As a family of five, we love the one bedrooms but the issue with most like BWV and BCV is that they only have beds for 4. The studios have the extra single bed under the TV, it's tight with all the beds open but we put them all away after we wake up and never spend a ton of time in the room. If you do get the dining plan I don't really think you'll need to use the full kitchen as much as you think. Also, we find the quick service breakfast choices at BWV lacking variety (we usually end up walking over to BCV lol) so using the toaster and microwave in the room is good enough. We have stayed in the studios at the Poly many times now and find them the best. The 1 1/2 baths is great! The trick to 5 in a studio is organization and keeping everything tidy! But you can't go wrong with any of your choices!

If you do the one bedroom, what would you do for the sleeping arrangements? And can one of your kids fit in the small pull down in a studio?

Twins in the pull out, me and dd in the king bed.

I think we are going to stick with BWV one bedroom standard. Can’t beat the location, kitchen, laundry.

Since you are already planning to share a bed, I guess I would decide based on the parks you plan to most visit- and how much time you plan to be in your room. If you are out for most of the time and coming back to sleep, or to be at the pools, then a studio may be better. If you aren't at the MK much, then maybe you want the other location. Also, do you want to cook on your trip and/or save money on food?
When we stay in a studio we bring plenty to eat for breakfast and snacks/light dinners....
Personally we did not care for BW.
